This going to have any impact on the season opener?
August 26th, 2017 at 7:48 AM ^
Other than the total decimation of the gators, no impact at all!

Won't see a drop. It looks like Harvey will act more like a drunken sailor causing damage in a bar, getting thrown out and moving to the next to repeat. It may bounce along the gulf coast for a bit and one hurricane forecast model has it hitting New Orleans.
August 26th, 2017 at 8:20 AM ^
I resent that remark. Can we say drunken sparty instead? Seriously hope everyone in the great state of Texas comes through this okay.

You weren't a mere sailor
August 26th, 2017 at 11:51 AM ^
He was a seamen
August 26th, 2017 at 9:19 AM ^
You were never in Subic Bay.
August 26th, 2017 at 9:43 AM ^
Latest forecasts show Harvey slowly moving over Easter Texas by week's end. Nothing significant in Dallas, but they are expecting rain from the system by Thursday and Friday. Granted, things are changing every hour.
August 26th, 2017 at 9:39 AM ^
The forecast right now is calling for a high of 82(!!) next Saturday, and not a day above 90 this whole week. It's usually still triple digits this time of year, so this is going to be a nice surprise for the northerners heading down for the game.
August 26th, 2017 at 10:50 AM ^
According to Accuweather the average high for Arlington on Septemer 2nd is 93. Now it will be 107 where I live today. WIsh it were 82...
August 26th, 2017 at 12:07 PM ^
I should have said mid-90's. But 93 with the humidity still makes it feels like it's in the triple digits.
August 26th, 2017 at 6:40 PM ^
Yep. I used to live in the Metroplex. Terrible weather and it's very flat.
August 26th, 2017 at 10:02 AM ^
Supposedly Gators will be displaced and people are warned leave them alone. Not sure if its due to Michigan beating them so bad or the hurricane. Link: https://twitter.com/FBCSO/status/900793654192869376
August 26th, 2017 at 8:01 AM ^
The storm, now, will have no effect on the Dallas-Arlington area.
Thread jack: buy now or scalp on game day? I might've missed a post. I liked that feature.
August 26th, 2017 at 8:39 AM ^
I've got 4 extra tickets in sec 460 row 5 and 2 tickets in row 4. I bought them through the alumni association so they are in Michigan section. Face is $100 I'll sell for $80. I'll be in Arlington on Friday.

There has to be a joke about sharks in there somewhere...

Sharknado 7: the shark humper
August 27th, 2017 at 7:17 AM ^
I thought sharknado 5 was the best and last of the series. No need to ruin the arc of the story line...
August 26th, 2017 at 9:06 AM ^
had plans to be in the Houston area next week. Not too sure that's happening anymore
August 26th, 2017 at 9:18 AM ^
If you're flying in, my guess is you'll be able to get there, even if it's a major delay. Whether your event/meeting/whatever gets canceled is trickier.
August 26th, 2017 at 10:27 AM ^
but if there's a few inches of water on the runway, I don't think the 747 is going to be water landing ready. They're supposed to get 20+ inches of rain down there
August 26th, 2017 at 9:09 AM ^
Weather guesser just said 16 inchs or more 200 miles away from shore. Probably wrong but just a heads up.
August 26th, 2017 at 9:13 AM ^
I condemn this hurricane in the strongest terms.
August 26th, 2017 at 11:27 AM ^
Thank you. We in Houston need this hurricane to know it's not welcome. Like my pops always says, don't make a guest too comfortable or they'll stay too long.
August 27th, 2017 at 7:19 AM ^
Guest and fish start to stink after 3 days.
August 26th, 2017 at 11:16 AM ^
Ask me how many Tornado warnings my phone had last night. Over 5. If you guys can keep everyone in your prayers down here that would be great. We still have 3 days to go with this storm. Yes Dallas will be fine but there are a lot of us Wolverines in the path.
August 26th, 2017 at 11:27 AM ^
Stay safe. I'm in west Memorial and so far we've been between feeder bands and have had minimal rains.
August 26th, 2017 at 1:49 PM ^
I'm in Seabrook right near the bay. So far no major flooding or storm surge. Just raining and some wind. Of course the question is where the storm goes and how long it sits over Houston... major flooding here is still a very real possibility. While my kids have never experienced a snow day, they've had their share of hurricane days in the 10 years we've been down here.
August 26th, 2017 at 2:12 PM ^
Yes! Brutal between the phone and the alarm system. We live in Richmond/Katy, so considering what we've seen this morning, we got pretty lucky.
One touched down on the East side of 99 by the Westpark Tollway, and we're just on the West side of 99. Too damn close! We have some friends that weren't so lucky, unfortunately.
Prayers for everyone dealing with Harvey, especially the tornadoes and heavy rain... latest forecasts calling for 30-40" in spots now!
August 26th, 2017 at 3:20 PM ^
and we caught a strong band early this morning but it's been pretty calm since. Just some rain and light winds. Be safe out there!
August 26th, 2017 at 11:35 AM ^
A tornado touched down about 2 miles from me and knocked out power for a few hours. Lots of rain. I wouldn't plan on coming to this area this week. If projections hold true, even if you can get to the airport getting around town won't be advisable.
DFW should be just fine. I hope I'll be able to leave town to get up to the game.
August 26th, 2017 at 11:37 AM ^
Damn double post.
August 26th, 2017 at 11:38 AM ^
Damn Aquino, anyway!

"Make Michigan Great Again! Drain The Swamp!" (FLA Stadium aka Swamp)
Was Considering Manufacturing This TShirt for The Trip, but Now, with 30 inches of rain, massive flooding, I cancelled production. Also, considered "Hurricane Harbaugh: HAIL Forecasted!"
OR "Hurricane (Steve) Harvey Anticipated Landfall in Columbia!" Too Soon?
August 26th, 2017 at 7:19 PM ^
Your first choice is ok. or are you saying that Texas is a swamp because that's really what you're saying.
August 26th, 2017 at 7:52 PM ^
of the eclipse so it said: "Hold my beer and watch this shit!"
August 26th, 2017 at 9:22 PM ^
Live in Katy but spend most of today driving in from dropping off eldest kid at her college. There were bands of rain and then times where it was scarry calm. Made it but the worst of the rain and flooding is south and west of Houston down towards Victoria and Corpus Christi. Been through several bad storms this one is probably going to be the worst on total destruction and chaos.
