Howie Schwab is one of ESPN's longest standing (if not the first) researchers. He had his own show trivia show - hosted by the used-to-be-cool-now-totally-full-of-himself-Stuart-Scott - called Stump the Schwab on ESPN (you can still catch reruns on ESPN Classic and it still might be in new production, not sure) which is one of my favorite ESPN original shows.
I'm glad to see his take as I think he has a pretty good understanding of all things sports. It's nice to see what appears to be the rational part of the national media coming out!

Stuart Scott was never cool.

I liked him originally when it was him and Kenny Mayne who were doing the show. Maybe that was more a reflection of how sweet Mayne was (and still is) but Scott was more entertaining when he first came into the business

looks like Joe Pesci put his head in a vice...only he somehow got away and survived.

The Schwab is just RIDICULOUS... in a good way. I LOVE watching "Stump the Schwab". The man is a human sports almanac. Seriously, this guy could name you the entire 1979 world series roster for both teams also telling you who batted cleanup. No doubt he'd nail who got the final out of the 4th inning for the bonus question.

Not the biggest fan of Schwab. He trashed Michigan for what he saw as running out Lloyd Carr. At least he's defending us now, but I don't think his opinions are usually that original or meaningful. He usually goes with what opinion is fashionable, and I don't think that this case is any exception.

check out Stewart Mandel's latest on SI.com. Not going to post a link because the stupidity might leak over here.
