How upset would you be if RR/Beilein pulled a Jeff Fisher . . .

and wore an Ohio St or MSU jersey at a charity event? (Fisher wore an Indy jersey at event). I know there is a difference between pro and college, and that I don't know how big the rivalry is between the Colts and Titans, but still. How upset would you be if RR went to a charity event that was sponsored in some part by a former OSU coach/player and he took off his shirt to reveal an OSU jersey? Personally, if it is for charity and it makes sense in the context of the event I think I would be ok with it. I never see this ever happenning but we were discussing it at work this morning so I was curious to get some more thoughts.

and lost 59-0... this likely is not it. The only context in which I would find this remotely acceptable, is if the opposing coach would wear the maize and blue and the cause was the cure to some malignant cancer that affects children or similar disease. Then again seening tressel in a maize sweatervest with a blue shirt would likely make me vomit. OH GOD! The visual!

UNC Coach Roy Williams caused quite a stir a few years ago when he wore the Kansas sticker (or lapel pin) for the championship game after getting knocked out in the semis. The fact that he was a former KU coach meant very little to the UNC fans.

I would be really upset if I ever caught myself being upset about a coach or player doing something during their free time. [Especially if it were at an event whose context (it was for charity) and participants (Dungy was a focal point) meant the action in question made a lot of sense.]

From my contacts with athletes, most have a perspective that a team is a team, and after the game, usually they aren't your enemy. A similar event is when two co-workers (or mayors of respective cities, or fellow students) bet each other on the outcome of a game, with whoever loses wearing an item of the other team chosen by the other person. I vaguely recall Brady and Charlie Tuna razzing each other in something like this.

For instance, if RR raised $1,000,000 for Children's Leukemia wearing an OSU jersey, it would be more than worth it to me. A variation on this kind of fundraiser is for two coaches to agree that whichever fan base gives more to some cause, both coaches wear the same jersey. So using the Children's Leukemia example, if during the fundraising period, UM fans gave $1,000,000 and OSU fans gave $1,500,000, both coaches wear OSU jerseys. If UM fans gave $2,000,000 and OSU fans $1,500,000, both coaches wear Michigan jerseys.

if there were a reason such as charity fundraising or maybe one of those silly bets, then i don't have any issues. if, however, coach were doing it on his own (e.g., just to be funny or whatever)...well, i don't think that would be very good joke. it would clearly be insulting to the fanbase and it would probably huant him until the inevitable firing. then again, i couldn't imagine any coach with a brain doing something so foolish.

He was introducing one of the classiest men in football, at a charity event, and made a joke about wanting to feel like a winner. Its not like he's a secret colts agent who has managed to keep the Titans down since his hiring.

Rodriguez can wear whatever he wants, on any day that he wants, and for whatever reason he wants. He doesn't owe me anything, least of all what he chooses from his wardrobe.
