How should we go about introducing our coach??

Submitted by rb4kb8 on

I was thinking it would be cool to be able to keep everyone in limbo until the UOS basketball game next week.. and then trot out the coach before the game and get the crowd all pumped up...tell them how he'll destroy UOS.

But that would only work with Harbaugh.. wouldn't it?.. would there be enough people who obsess over this enough to actually know who the next guy is and be able to pull that off?... I mean I guess OSU did it with SweaterVest.

Any other cool ways to do it other than the traditional press conference?

In all seriousness, they at least tacitly approved of Leaders and Legends.  It can't end well.  Imagine introducing Hoke to Crisler.  He'd be booed, regardless of how good he ends up being.  Imagine parachuting Les Miles out of a plane into Michigan Stadium.  He'd crash and burn down two city blocks--he'd be find because he's crazy like that--but think of the kids.

Arnold is hiding inside the massive robotic woman when she short circuits and her head comes apart in segments, right, you're with me.  Okay, if it's Harbaugh, instead of the woman it's a robotic Les Miles and have it short circuit at half time of the Kansas game to have Harbaugh climb out to a roar from the crowd.

If it's anyone else just put their name on their new office and move along. /s

And based upon the way things are going I am not to sure I would plan anything major.

I hate to be that guy but I kinda think we're down to Brady Hoke and Rich Rodriguez.

Brady Hoke is Michigans best bet for our new coach. He does have a defensive mind and head coaching experience.

HIS EXPERIENCE:

Before becoming the head coach at Ball State, Hoke was the defensive line/associate head coach at Michigan. His career also included stops at Oregon State (defensive line), Toledo (outside linebackers), Western Michigan (DL, special teams), Grand Valley State(defensive line), and Yorktown High School (defensive coordinator, offensive line).

At Western Michigan, Hoke coached under head coach Jack Harbaugh. Also on the coaching staff were current Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and current Ravens defensive coordinator Greg Mattison. Mattison would later serve at Michigan in the mid 1990s as defensive line coach and defensive coordinator, and in 1995 was instrumental in hiring Hoke. When he left Michigan, Hoke was replaced as defensive line coach by Bill Sheridan.

During the 2008 season, Hoke led the Cardinals to the most wins in school history, finishing a 12-0 regular season before falling to the Buffalo Bulls in the MAC Championship. The season featured Ball State's first victory over a BCS conference opponent, the school's first appearance in the Top 25 polls, and their first appearance in the BCS standings.

BRADY HOKE IS A FULL PACKAGE!!

DB: "Here's some guy who isn't Jim Harbaugh.....sorry"

DB: "I am pleased to announce the guy who is going to be keeping Jim Harbaugh's seat warm for the next few years....this guy"

DB: "And now without further ado I would like to introduce the biggest mistake in my sort career as an AD.....this guy"

Have him come out at halftime of either Sunday or Wednesday's basketball game like Hulk Hogan. Complete with shirt tear and hand to ear twirls! Remix Hulks song "I am real American" to "I am a real Michigan Man!"
