I was thinking the same thing. Does anyone know why guys specifically from Fork Union (Military Academy) would have a high opinion of Fred Jackson? Especially a former Buckeye?
"I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy."
Chris Perry went to Fork Union.
I can't wait to see who he compares him to.
If you see someone in an airport with Michigan logos on luggage and they are wearing a pilot uniform come say hello.
but more powerful with a higher ceiling
How can you kill that which has no life
The Fred Jackson quote generator would sell huge in corporate america. Imagine if you hit a button on your desk and Fred would say "You're like Bill Gates, only smarter." Huge boon to office productivity!
No radio. Nothing of value.
Even displays his usual complimentary nature when talking about himself. Awesome.
Kid, I am like mike ditka, only thinner and mote focused on rung backs. I am like Vince lombardi only alive.
I just wanted to be certain that I wasn't the only one thinking that.
Before I even finished the story, I was thinking, "Fred Jackson is doing a Fred Jackson on Fred Jackson!" How fantastic is that? It's like an acid trip, with Kate Upton. But better than that, because it is like a beautiful dream, of being on an acid trip, with Kate Upton.
Fred had better be careful. Recruting power like that, could rip a hole in the space-time continuum.
Nice to hear about Fred Jackson kicking ass on the recruiting trail. I love his confident approach that stops short of arrogance. With all the fun we have with his hyperbole, I sometimes forget what a great recruiter he is.
Vince Lombardi but smarter.
Warning: My imagination is inefficient.
didn't make it into Seth's signing day photo's thread:
"I promise you we would have walked to the University of Michigan." - Brady Hoke
But why is he in a three-point stance?
This just in from Fort Schembechler: Derrick Green to LG, Devin Gardner to WR, and Dennis Norfleet to LB
"The straightest line from A to B is straight: From A to B"
"When you have Denard Robinson, you can have everything"
~George Walden
I heard that Hoke just cried and begged him to come here.
C'mon, how can you not think that that is funny?
..because it sounds like something an ohio or sparty fan would say?
The Team, The Team, The Team
Why, because it didn't have a "/s" at the end of it?
Hey, look pal...I didn't down vote you. So, apparently I'm not the only one who didn't get the joke. I just posted the picture because...well, I like to post pictures.
The Team, The Team, The Team
I really don't care about the picture or the downvoting. But I did find your sarcastic "gee wilikers" remark annoying because it seemed to imply that my original comment was sincere rather than intended as a joke. I thought it was blatantly obvious that Hoke didn't really cry and beg Green to come here and that my comment would be interpreted as a joke. Poeple that treat jokes literally are infuriating.
Okay, fair enough. I do tend to use sarcasm as a weapon, as you do also. I get it. But pick your battles is all I can say. The gee-willikers remark was intended to be quite sarcastic, just FYI, as if it would be completely obvious why the comment got negbombed.

"One notable person on that list: Former Ohio State tailback Eddie George, whose vouching for Jackson helped lure Green to the Buckeyes' fiercest rival."
George better hope this doesn't get wide circulation in the Buckeye circles or he'll be a marked man.
"The street legend is back, bitches!"
a 5* recruit is the heightened sense of competition for the current guys.
Rawls, Fitz & co are surely working a little harder at S&C - they know Green has the ability to immediately take away carries.
"Everybody wants to be a hero, so to speak. But it takes everybody." - Charles Woodson
when you consider that Eddie George actually works for OSU now and helps Urban Meyer recruit.
I am sure Urban loves seeing in print that Eddie gave Freddy a thumbs up.
"Deserve to Win!"
growing up, according to his interview yesterday on WTKA. (It must have been with Sam Webb... Think he said he was an OSU fan growing up because of Eddie George. So it says a lot about Mr. George that he'd give Fred Jackson props even though he works for a rival.
Wait... So this isn't how you land big time recruits?

“When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing” - Bo Schembechler
No, but that is how I land hookers.
Hold up... Impressive knowledge of football... Slightly irritating public personality... Writes with a lilting Southern accent...
CRAIG JAMES?????????!!!!!!!!
I get hookers to make fun of them for being hookers
If you don't like Michigan you are a peasant
Hookers are the only women you can get.

Tell me if I'm recruiting to Michigan or Mississippi and I'll have your answer.
“True loyalty is that quality of service that grows under adversity and expands in defeat. Any street urchin can shout applause in victory, but it takes character to stand fast in defeat. One is noise — the other, loyalty.”
He's as powerful as the Death star and can make the Kessel run in 11 parsecs
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.
He's outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers, mind you. I'm talking about the big Corellian ships...

"Ohio is like a giant turd that Michigan just can't pinch off"
"Everybody in the country was recruitin' the kid, and I think what happened in the long run -- and he'll tell you this -- what I sold Derrick on more than anything else was my ability to make him better -- take him somewhere where he can't take himself," - Fred Jackson, quoted in the article
Fred Jackson is probably in select company among RB coaches when it comes to being able to stake his resume on getting elite recruits like Green, but it is a definite strength if you can sell a recruit (or anyone really) on you personally as well as the program. This is something Jackson and the entire staff do extremely well, making it not just about Michigan but the people who facilitate the program. It was also kind of intriguing to read that among those who vouched for Jackson was one Eddie George.
