How many wins this season?

Submitted by Kyrie_Smith on
We made through the first quarter of the season already and still perfect. 3 wins and 0 losses. So how many wins do we get this season? I'm breaking it down like this: The O looks good. The D not so much. If the O maintains and the D picks it up then I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we can get to 10 wins.(fingers crossed) If the O slides a little and the D stays about the same then I'm thinking closer to 7 wins. 8 tops.

...9 wins including a bowl.  But I'm not counting out a tenth.  And I'm not panicking over yesterday's game.  The goal was to win and they won.  If the football gods hadn't shat on them three times in the last five minutes or so, this could have been a 17-point victory, and everyone would still be on the bandwagon.

As it is, they got the win and the coaching staff got a lot of "teachable moments."  And they won't overlook anyone the rest of the year.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say 10 wins. 9 regular season games with a bowl victory on New Years Day. Call me crazy but GOD could possibly be on Michigans side this year as i predict we will quite a few shootouts(48-45) games.. with that being said thats a huge stretch for a sophomore at the healms of QB. But theres still tons of football to play and shit anything could happen with a consistently decent defense. GO BLUE

6-7 wins because this is the worst Michigan defense I've seen in the 4 decades I've been watching my beloved Wolves, and thus far the worst Michigan special teams I've seen in that time also....AWFUL

about 1) judging this team based solely on last weeks performance, and 2) against past Michigan team's performances.  I can remember really good teams that we had who struggled on a few different nights.   Does anyone remember the fantastic win we had against Washington State at home to open the season a few years back?  Brabbs made  a great field goal at the end to win...  but do you remember the first 2 he missed in the game?  Also the rest of the season we struggled to find any inkling of a kicking game, and every time Brabbs came in you knew it was a fake.  However this team won alot of games.    Also, look at the year we lost to Appalacian State.  That was a damn good team that played aweful defense on that day.  I still remember that reciever's last name that tore us up... Cocoa!   That being said, I really believe that this Michigan team we bounce back extremely well after surving this last game.  GO BLUE!!

First of all, referring to the UMass game, I really think we can write off their performance on both sides of the ball as simply not coming to the field ready to play.  I was at the Appalacian State game a few years back and it was very similar.  The players just came off of a great win at Notre Dame stadium and then start treating the next week against a AA school as a week off. That being said, if you look at the schedule, 10 wins are not that far off.  We should beat both Bowling Green and Indiana with not too much trouble.  That puts us into the next couple of weeks with MSU and Iowa at home.  We have a great chance at beating both of these teams in the Big House.  That could put us at 7 - 0.   We then have a tough game ont he road at Penn State.  This game is a toss us considering their freshmen QB.  I think we could beat Illinois and Purdue both with little trouble.  This puts the final games of the season with Wisconsin at home and Ohio State away.  So depending on the Penn State and Wisconsin games I don't think its that far fetched to expect 9 to 10 wins.   GO BLUE!!
