How many are there?

I heard that Michigan's college football season is starting sometime soon. Anyone have a clue when that might be?

It's gonna be a great day... Saw my first ultra sound of my first kid due in March yesterday. All of a sudden my perspective has changed on just about everything.

Funny, quick story... Majority of my wife's family is from Columbus. Sucks to be me. But her grandmother is in town this weekend, and I told her, "Don't even THINK about getting this child any osu clothing...i promise it will end up as a dust rag."

True story.

I have a picture of my son in a sparty gear. I came across it the other day. I told my wife to hide it from me. I can't honestly get rid off a picture of my son even with a sparty gear. So, you are on the right trick. Make sure your kid never gets a picture with OSU or MSU gear. It will haunt you.

My wife's actual father (not stepfather) and his wife are pretty clueless about sports, so despite the numerous reminders that this is a Michigan household, we've had Michigan State gear show up around the holidays and Christmas. Now, they never seem to realize that the lack of photos of my kids in them is because the gear is immediately donated.

The worst present was the stained glass block "M" that was done in MSU colors - again, they don't seem to know thing one about school colors, so I took it in stride and buried it by the hastas. They DID ask about that once, so the story is that it is at my office. Yeah, my office....

My sister-in-law's husband is an OSU fan and he tried to get my daughters to take pictures in his OSU sweatshirt to troll me.

Unfortunately my stepdaughter caved, she just doesn't get it, but my daughter refused and told him 'We are a Michigan family, we HATE Ohio State'.. very proud dad moment for me.

My sister in laws family is mostly made of buckeye fans. At a birthday party for my niece I gave my Michigan hat to the 5 year old daughter of the in laws to wear. She happy wore it around the house for a while until her older sister told her what it was. She then screamed and ran to her dad. He was upset at first until he was told what happened and then he laughed and complemented his daughter. Now he is trying the same thing with my kids, but they know better.

Tell me about it. At my mothers house, there exists a photo of me wearing a Sparty sweatshirt. I was no more than 2 years old, too young to pick out my own outfit and too young to know the difference. Came from a relative that couldn't get into college, so they decided to go to state instead.

I've been searching for that photo for years so it can be properly disposed of. (You can never have too much kindling for a fire pit).

It haunts me to this day. Every time I visit, I'm desperately hoping she lets me get rid of that picture. No luck yet.

In the early 70s I was already a diehard MICHIGAN fan and learned early on that OSU was evil incarnate. But MSU wasn't much of a threat at the time and Wolverine fans and Sparty fans pretty much lived in peace in Traverse City Land, until the weekend of that game.
The animosity has certainly grown over the years, and more so in the last decade. Ten years from now, we will have reasserted the MICHIGAN dominance, but I doubt the benevolent tolerance returns.

Congratulations! As a Michigan fan with Buckeye parents, I can tell you they're going to mess with you forever. My son goes up to Ohio to stay with my folks in the summers, and they try to brain wash him, but it's mostly harmless. I've told them the same thing for the past 6 years: he better not come back with any buckeye gear.

Someone gave my wife an MSU outfit at a baby shower; she immediately planned to re-gift it. Before she could re-gift it, I "accidentally" used the outfit as a paint rag. There are only a few acceptable uses for these senseless gifts.

But someone gave my kid an MSU outfit and the bottoms were JORTS. Sorry, no baby of mine will be in JORTS. I don't even know what happened to that outfit. I think it was the Penn State fan lady who worked with my husband. Good thing that douchecanoe moved.

Edit- I learned that word here!!! I hope I used it properly!

Someone mentioned using the outfit as an oil rag.  I like that idea.  My car back in 2000 was leaking oil pretty bad and I remember using the newspaper with MSU's basketball celebration as the drip mat for my leaky car.  It was sweet seeing Mateen's face get oil drips all over it.

Although I don't think you should be having children until we beat OSU and MSU.

I scared the hell out of my wife at the first ultrasound appointment. She had never seen me cry before and as soon as the picture came up on the screen I completely lost my shit. Thankfully the nurse was cool about it. I was pretty embarrassed.
