How good is Life?

Submitted by Ler on

I'm sitting here eating some grilled Italian sausage, drinking beer, watching football and soaking in the feeling of Michigan beating a team like they should (by that I mean convincingly beating a lesser opponent) and I couldn't help but to think how great this is and how long I've been waiting to feel this again. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the game today as much as I did, now let's go get Notre Dame.

Looks like RichRod kind of called off the dogs a bit in the 2nd half and took advantage of the big lead by doing some experimenting with Robinson, Sheridan, and Cone for the last drive as well as some of his backup RBs.

Some things need to be cleaned up like the penalties, but I was extremely encouraged how well Forcier played. They would have scored even more points had he stayed out there because he consistently moved the chains all day. A few of the drives stalled when Forcier was taken out.

I think it's safe to say Forcier is starting next week but they've got to get Robinson on the field as well. They should be out there at the same time quite a bit.

Forcier seems like a kid that's not going to turn the ball over very much, either.

He scored a running touchdown that was called back. And, the pass was just a little late. Plus, I'm not sure but it looked like Matthews didn't come back to the ball and let the defensive back beat him to the pass.

I am going to have to go back and watch the game again to confirm this, but on the first watch, it seemed that D Warren was almost too quick and too good today...he was literally beating the WR's to their spot and they were falling over him, thus the penalties....there were a couple of times, though, that he needed to turn and see the ball and he didn't, but overall, I feel that he played better than his stats would indicate.

Glorious, I'm hoarse and won't be able to talk tomorrow. The stadium was rocking. It is much louder. Lots of "Rich Rodriguez clap, clap, clap-clap-clap"

Damn, I feel so good!

The penalties need to get cleaned up. And the one time WMU went deep they scored easy. That's a concern with ND next week. Tate looked great as I expected. He is the CLEAR #1 QB. Denard is fast, but just doesn't have the experience yet.

The defense looked much more aggressive today and the tackling was 100% better than last season.

A little concerned about the d-backs. Warren didn't look great (too many penalties and he got beat a few times). Have to also add that I hope Robinson was holding back on showing the blitz package because I think we'll need to put more pressure on Clausen to succeed next week. However, overall, EXTREMELY gratifying!

Why are you concerned? We all expected Western Michigan to put up points with Hiller, a very talented senior QB. The primary concern going into the game was Western's offense.

If told you yesterday that Michigan's defense would hold Western to just 7 points, you would have been ecstatic. Now you're concerned?

Life is Right Good!

I thought two of the calls against Donovan were really weak. He was outstanding (as was the rest of the Defense). I CANNOT wait for the UFR. This is a nice way to get the the season started.

Even Coach Gibson said that JT Floyd is mentally ready but still needs work physically. Well, we know what Floyd is missing, and that's speed. Normally, Floyd wouldn't play until he was a junior or senior. He's being pressed into service because of our horrible secondary depth.
