How does Rudock change your 2015 predictions?
He wasn't the best qb in the country but Ruddock had pretty good numbers and provides a massive improvement in the Michigan qb department. Now that we have him, what are your thoughts on the season and what areas are you still concerned about. I think WRs could still be an issue but we have Jake Butt at TE to take some pressure off of them. I think our defense will be the best it's been since 2006 but we may still have some question marks at defensive end.

we're going to be even moar undefeateder
the undefeatedist
or are there a couple more hurdles to jump?
This. I was wondering if he had been accepted to grad school here yet?
I am not too worried. He is an Academic All-American in college and in high school. High GPA majoring in microbiology and premed, high SAT score, and being a scholarship athlete doesn't hurt.
I am sure UofM can find a spot for him somewhere.
Rumor has it that Oakland is still in play.
with this?
FRIGG OFF RICKY
Man that would be a slap in the face if Rudock chose a Horizon League school to be QB of their club team over a D-1 blueblood like Michigan
Nice answer, upvote for you, but wrong Oakland....
I'm Back Bloggers - cameltoe and all!
This picture still blows my mind every time I see it. I mean, who could possibly look in the mirror and think that it's a good idea to leave the house in this?
Awesome and he had an excellent week of practice.
so is NJIT.
We will still be undefeated.
I have been saying they will win ten since Harbaugh was hired. But the reason I wasn't even more optimistic is because of the Utah game being so early and the possibility of another early stumble in the Big Ten. This changes things a lot.
There is now experience at the QB position. If Rudock wins the job, there will be an experienced, fifth-year QB at the helm. If it happens to be Morris or Malzone starting, it will be because one of them beat out an experienced, fifth-year QB.
I may have been too pessimistic in my prediction of ten wins. At any rate, the words "experienced, fifth-year QB" sound really great to me. It's been awhile.
Yeah I feel like this is kind of like Hoke's first year. We don't have a real weakness on the team but no stars right now. The media only thinks we'll win 7-8 due to the previous year but with our personnel not losing many people and the Harbaugh and Drevno factor I could see a surprise year like 2011.
I think QB and DE(depth) are for sure a weakness right now. IMO
I am optimistic that by mid season we will have a serviceable starter at QB though. Just too many questions right now.
As long as Glasgow is center my concerns about the OL will lessen. I went into this offseason thinking the OL would be a surprise strength - i.e. not a great unit but a unit that is finally average plus, but that was will Miller and Glasgow as two 5th year seniors. If Glasgow ends up screwing something up and does not play center (or anywhere) that removes 2/5ths of a projected OL which would make me worried again. But if we have an experienced center who has played college football rather than praying with Cole or hoping with Kugler I think that can erase worries about that unit. Worst case you flash Cole back out to tackle if LTT is not ready and go Cole - Magnuson - Glasgow - Kalis - Braden with LTT pushing at a tackle spot and Dawson apparently next in line at a guard spot. I know everyone now wants Cole to be a center but I want someone who has done it - if LTT is a tackle and Cole is a guard displacing either Magnuson or Kalis that is fine too.
I think we still lack a WR to spread the field with speed but Rudock doesnt really have the arm to take advantage of it anyway so it is sort of moot. With Harris iffy I am hoping Cole, Ways, Canteen, or even Bunting (flashed out at a WR in a Funchess way) can be a solid 2nd thru 4th along with Chesson. But still a lot of variables.
I expect a huge year from Butt and I think Khalid Hill might surprise if he is healthy - he was beginning to play well right when he got hurt and has been forgotten.
Defense - DT is the strength, LB are solid if not special, DE is a question, I like the starting S and Lyons pushes Countess as the second corner so I feel pretty solid. Still lack a lot of extreme playmakers and the DBs could be in trouble if we cannot generate pash rush so that's my main concern.
But as for QB this is huge in terms of providing stability. Rudock is very average but going into this year we didnt have a guarantee of even average. It is a big help for an OL that might still struggle some.
You don't think Rudock puts the QB floor at average? A solid, experienced guy as the worst case scenario hardly seems like a weakness. I agree that DE and pass rushing is now the biggest question mark. Also need a receiver to step up.
Maybe I'm reading them wrong but we had an experienced 5th yr QB heading into 2014.

you spelled malzone wrong
You forgot to capitalize.
too lazy to capitalize or puncuate or use complete sentences or sometimes too lazy to even finish my
If they win less than 7 games this year then there is no amount of sadness that would be unreasonable.
Well, we don't know if he will start. We assume he will and I think he will, but there is no guarantee.
I no longer expect that Malzone will start at Utah, and he may even redshirt if Rudock stays healthy and plays well. That would be a huge bonus!
Especially if Speight was competitive, there's little reason why Malzone shouldn't redshirt.
he emreges as the clear #1 or even #2.
This comment made me realize: The hidden downside Rudock starting is that you'll never have to eat your words about Morris being such a travesty of a QB and Malzone being so much better.
Well there is this thing called a depth chart.
I think our ceiling stays the same, but I do think it raises our floor.

What's our ceiling? Harbaugh has demonstrated that he can win games against superior teams, so is our ceiling a spot in the CFB playoff?
My prediction is now 9 wins; our schedule is pretty tough, even with our rivals coming to us this year. Utah, Oregon State, and BYU are all non-conference threats, with Maryland, Minnesota, and Penn. State joining MSU and OSU as potential losses. That said, I think we'll only drop three of those eight games.
It's awfully hard to put a ceiling on this team, but I'd say 11 wins is on the edge of reason, and going undefeated is implaubsible.
Harbaugh ceilings are always undefeated. Harbaugh floors are wherever they end up at the end of the year.
Which two games did you move to the W column? I assume Utah, and which other?
YOU....
I remember you.
Edit: Stay Classy Ann Arbor beat me to it.
I went from 6 to 12.
Oh, "wins." We were talking about wins.
Nevermind.
Nevermind the guy above me used that joke already
Maybe add one more win, assuming he is the starter and has another low INT season. I'm at 9 wins as a floor and expectation, with a steady QB maybe 10.
Still have us 8-10 wins depending on several factors beyond QB. I think the better question is how many games will Rudock start? I'll set the over under at 6.
