How crazy are you going for the season?

Submitted by Blazefire on

I am currently watching ASU @ WISC. I don't give two shits about this game, especially in rerun... but I am smack out of patience. I NEED MY CFB!

What level of insanity for the season have you reached?

mgovideo gets me through the rough times. I think I've watched the game vs. illinois last year 3 times now and the 2007 MSU game twice. Seeing our defense like that last year makes me look forward to this year even more.

I'm going crazy waiting for the first game. Even more so for the second game. First night game in the Big House and my first game in the Big House since i was 1. I NEED COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Also I don't know why anyone would downvote your post. I voted it back up for you.

Not crazy enough to stick my arm up a cow's ass!

All joking aside, I am really chomping at the bit to watch some Michigan football.  There is so much to be excited for this season.  I am hoping that little things like the BHBBQ, the countdown to kickoff videos, and more recruiting developments will be enough to keep me from going nuts over the next 6 weeks!

I'm watching Michigan highlights and pump up videos on youtube, any reruns on Big 10 Network, too crazy right now.

Sidenote, I was watching the Wisky rerun earlier, and it made me realize. Steven Threat seems to always play well against the Badgers. Don't know why.

I think we need an official 2011 hype video thread. We've had some board topics and diaries on the issue, but I think an OFFICIAL thread will attract the wide range of videos we need to get properly pumped for the season.

I actually watched quite a bit of the Big Ten Replay today including the game you mentioned and the Iowa vs. Michigan game from last year.

It isn't exactly getting me pumped, but I need some sort of sign that football still exists!

The wife yelled at me to come to bed at 1 AM.  I got from '69 thru '99 UM vs OSU games! I loved it the years we handed it to OSU in blowouts. Rick leach's '76 22-0 game was great in the horseshoe. Brought back fund meories! I enjoyed the '91 and '93 blowouts!

It's time to sart a new long winning streak against OSU!!!!

How did we keep any confidence last year? Yes, Denard was awesome... but that defense! It's like watching Jackson Pollack work. "I'll throw some red here... and some green there... I know it doesn't make sense! Trust me, I'm a genius."

for Purdue and Nebraska.  I'll be there in person, wearing maize of course, cheering my head off in both games.  RAWR!!!!  Does that count as "crazy" or does that just make me a passionate fan?

This is a good reason for people to get into the Tour de France - it eats up three weeks of otherwise dead (aside from midseason baseball) summer time.

You can watch both.  They generally aren't on at the same time, unless you're catching a Tour replay.

There's just not a whole lot of drama involved in midseason baseball.  I'm a Tiger fan, but at this point in the season, it doesn't matter to me if I miss a few games or not.  It's very doubtful that any AL Central team will make a decisive move in the standings before September.  Midseason MLB games are not enough to satisfy my sports fix.

Man, I don't know.  I've been watching the Red Sox every day and I can't stand the MLB.  My interest level is through the floor.  I'm equally interested in soccer so I've been watching Copa America.  It's only available on the Spanish Channel so that kind of sucks.  The tournament has been really unpredictable though which is cool.  I'm rooting for Uruguay in the final tomorrow.

But yeah. . .I can't wait for football to start up.

The banners wouldn't go up until the week before the first game. They are up right now.

The Michigan glasses wouldn't be anywhere near the drinks until Saturday morning before the first game. I have had a wee sip of various liquors from them already.

I wouldn't be boring my wife with the virtues of the roster until about  October. I have already made her go to bed early once.

I think I am ready.

Been watching UM games on YouTube and BTN. Also plenty of Tour de France. Recently watched the 1986 UM-Notre Dame game, which I attended when I was a UM student. What a great memory - my roommate got hold of four tickets, two of which we sold, which paid for our trip to South Bend. ND missed a late FG attempt right in front of us and we won. Thought I wouldn't escape alive in my Wolverine gear that day.
