to play football, not to play trumpet
...how 'bout that Mike Hankwitz?
Even on the fake punt, they seemed to hold true to the fake, but Maybin got turned around. Damn Sparty. Northwestern's D looks good though.
I'm supporting them on every thread!!!
We're not getting rid of Greg Robinson. Please God no. Can we please have some stability in the program so that all our returning baptism-by-fire kids can actually help our OMG Shirtless defensive recruits we're gonna have this year?
I wholeheartedly agree with you, sir/ma'am -- consistency is necessary. But -- BUT -- if there were to be a coaching change, I'd hope Hankwitz would be at the top of a short list. Being a former M player and assistant with recruiting ties to the area would make such a transition a bit more palatable.
Fair enough. I agree with that assessment.
Yeah, I hate those damn trick plays. Mostly cuz they've worked. But I was just thinking, NW might be my 2nd favorite B10 team. There's Hankwitz, I like Fitz, and Persa's got grit like what. Pretty good run this year, too. Minus last week, of course.
The best thing about NW is they've been a perennial doormat to us in multiple sports. Pretty much every other Big Ten team has been historically mediocre to good in either football or basketball or both. Minnesota comes in a close second.
With the way NW is coached. Really few mental mistakes. They are very disciplined and the D plays fundamentally well. Always make the tackle on the checkdown receiver.
That was actually a SpartyNo! move. By scoring instead of going down, he gave NW one final chance. The annoying thing about MSU's season is that they've still made a lot of these dumb mistakes, but their opponents aren't capitalizing (and making dumb mistakes of their own).
