Horgan Morford Appreciation Thread

Submitted by HAIL 2 VICTORS on

Horford and Morgan have been excellent since McGary went out.  If they continue to average a double double in B1G we have an excellent chance of winning the conference.

Through Gauntlet #1 Combined Stats

Wisconson: 36 Minutes/ 3 Blocks/ 10 Points/ 8 Boards

Iowa: 40 Minutes/ 1 Block/ 12 Points/ 10 Boards

MSU: 36 Minutes/ 3 Blocks/ 10 Points/ 8 Boards

Morgan is also a member of the 500 points/500 rebounds club with 834 and 605 respectively.

He passed Thad Garner, John Robinson & Maurice Taylor in career rebounds this weekend.

that even between them, they aren't averaging a full 40 minutes.  I wonder whether Coach B. has thought about moving those minutes up, even to 42-44 a game.  I get the "if it ain't broke" theory, but it sure seems to me we will need more out of them as we face big teams.

Possesed. He wanted that game Sat. very bad. I felt so good for him when they got the win in his last game at the Breslin in East Germa er Lansing. The man deserved it.The whole team did, but you could see it in his eyes he was looking like he would do anything for the win. Good for him and good for the team all alone atop the B1G and if Sparty falls at Iowa and UM beats Purdue at Crisler they will have a two game lead on everyone. Go Blue and Go Jordan.

Serious threadjacking question:

Has Morgan ever gotten a T for his reaction to any call against him? I always think he is going to get one with his reactions but I cannot remember him actually getting one.  Guy hasn't foulded anyone in 4 years.

I remember the MSU home game last year where he drew a crucial charge in the final moments. McGary was coming on strong at that point in the season and cutting into Morgan's usual minutes. I thought if that was the last significant play that Morgan was involved in as a wolverine, well then that's alright. Crazy to think of how much this team has changed since then.
