Uh........... no, thank you?
Horford and McGary injured yesterday per Beilein per Twitters
But of course
NO NO NO NO NO
Too soon? Then again, I may be overreacting.
means it's never too soon to panic.
We are fine . There is a lot of time to heal up before big ten play.
I am going to cover my eyes with my hands and act like this isn't happening.
Injuries happen every year -- hopefully we got ours out of the way early, and these guys have time to recover.
HEY MAN I WAS JUST TRYING TO PUT ON A HAPPY FACE
than in February/March.
I hope they are nothing serious and they both heal up fast!
to both of them!
I can deal with twists, bumps and bruises. Just so long as we don't hear terms like "tear" or "break".
But I heard that Mcgary is really tearing it up on the fastbreak in practice!
Well, Horford was out most of last year, so hopefully the team is used to working without him. Sounds like McGary will recover; and probably wouldn't hurt to keep the freshman's minutes lean early on in case he is needed later in the season. But yeah, this isn't fun to hear.
They are just saggy "boo boos" / \ / \

...you had to have a white-hot spot light, you had to be a big shot -
- crooked boobies fail though.
when you gather too much awesome into a single location.
Please be good, Bielfeldt.
Jon Horford has been injured for around 93.97 percent of his career... What's he doing wrong?
looked very coordinated to me, like some parts of his body have to catch up to others when he moves. Could lead to some awkward landings when he has stop, jump, and land quickly, or when he does not have complete balance when he lands. It does seem like they are all leg injuries. Just a theory.
I hope I'm wrong, but he's always had that weirdly-proportioned Greg Oden look to me.
Apparently the Horford thing could be serious and not just an inconvenience
better now than later.
...better never than now.
Im torn in how to vote on the thread OP. Do I upvote it for being informative, especially with the quoted tweets which was very insightful, or do I downvote it because it is bad news that I didn't want to hear?
You could just do what some people do to my comments - neg all of them regardless of content because they don't e-like me.
Negged for talking about me.
This one made me laugh out loud. Posbanged for sense of humor.
For your healthy attitude towards points, or neg you to help you fulfill your destiny.
because you a) responded b) not a jerk, and c) were informative
I'll be out on the ledge.
when we will hear something difinitive? man, I hope McGary is just nicked up or something and Horford please don't be hurt too seriously, crossing fingers for some good news
Sounds like Horford has a MCL/ACL issue. Not good. Wouldn't count on him being back or contributing until after the new year.
McGary has one of Hoke's famous "Boo-Boos"
He won't be back for AT LEAST 6 months. That means he's gone for the entire season.
just trying to stay optimistic. An MCL would give him an opportunity to be back this season. If he can't, it looks like we may have to revert to the classic Beilien 4-guard formation (pending McGary, depth, and a whole bunch else).
He didn't say tear or anything. Could be a sprain.
Do you have any reason, what so ever, for saying it's an MCL/ACL? Or are you just trying to get everyone worked up?
If it appears on the internets, you know its true. I mean, CRAIG JAMES ALLEGEDLY KILLED 5 HOOKERS!
plussing you when you're not backing it up with links, etc.? Huh? Huh?
The full write-up is now on AnnArbor.com - (LINK)
It mentions that McGary is "working on something with his ankle and foot", also mentioning that some will just be on the bike during sprints as well to build up strength. There are still no specifics for Horford's injury, but "twisted a knee" doesn't sound good initially, so hopefully we get some word soon. Regardless, I wish both of them a speedy recovery.
Unfortunately McGary has a history of plantar fasciitis issues this may be a re-occurrence
Just googled and there is a Nick Baumgardner story on Mlive
Well this really sucks, lets hope these injuries arent serious.
If McGary is able to practice at all, his injury presumably can't be that bad. As for Horford, a "twisted knee" can mean almost anything.
Horford has been on some bad injury luck...hope its not serious.
He needs to drink more milk a.s.a.p.
over on the rivals boards they are hering mcl
No, the MCL is a red herring. it was the butler the whole time.
It's not that rare. Players injure it from making a cut and having their leg slip, as is often the case in football.
Sometimes you don't even need to cut or twist to tear an ACL, although it isn't the most common way to do it. I remember C-Webb did it several years back playing for the Kings during the playoffs. He simply jumped (I believe it was an alley-oop or rebound) and was clutching his knee before he hit the ground.
Robinson goes to the four and Stauskus' minutes go up, that would be a nice guard heavy offense. I don't know about you guys but I'm just as excited about Stauskus as I am our other two big recruits, if not more...
How does that 6th year thing work again?
If you miss two seasons due to injury, you can get a 6th year. Hopefully it won't have to come to that.
This seems reasomably appropriate to put here because there really isn't any other place to put it: I got to tour the PDC yesterday and, not that this is news to anyone now, but that is a SWEET facility. They are still adding stuff and installing signage, and they are also working furiously on the last of the Crisler changes. Very nice.
Coach Alexander showed us how the iPads work; to be honest, when I first saw their unveiling in the PDC video, I assumed they were just sweet little high-tech toys. Something nice to have, something that would appeal to recruits, but nothing more than a fun perk. In fact they are loaded with content about opponents, teams, indivdual players, etc). Michigan players can essentially study film wherever.
To make it a little more relevant, we saw Corey Person, Jordan Morgan, and Trey Burke shooting baskets so THOSE guys are fine.
