Hoosier predictions anyone?

Submitted by Search4Meaning on

Ok.  Let's see what's on your minds...  Your predictions please.

1.  Who wins the game? What is the final score?

2.  Denard's passing and rushing yards?  (Shouldn't we be calling these Denyards?)

3.  Indiana's total yards?

4.   How many times will Michigan punt?

5.  How many Michigan field goal attempts?  (notice I didn't say "made")

EDIT:  "running and rushing"? Nice!  What I meant was "passing and rushing" - correction made.

Michigan  77 Indiana 70. Thankfully M scores late in regulation to win, avoiding OT and the possibility of both teams reaching triple digits.

Denard will have 244 yards running and another 206 rushing, plus another 340 yards passing, setting a single game record that will likely last until the Illini game.

Indiana 962 total yards

zero and zero punts and field goals

I won't try to answer all your requests but I will say this" 1.) M will win and put up 49+ points (the Indiana defense really SUCKS, 2.) Indiana will put up no more than 35 points on the M defense. Ergo, M will win by at least 14 ponts.

Eddie George predicts IU beats us 50-48..  No big surprise there..  He says they have an unreal offense and their D is overall better than ours..

After watching indiana play akron, which they should of lost if Akron had the slightest ability to catch a football.

Indiana will score less than 30, and we will score over 45.

They can't pass the whole game.. Their rushing has been pathetic against terrible teams

What makes you think that IU can't pass the whole game?  They have more passing yards in 3 games then we do in 4 and our secondary isn't exactly the greatest thing since sliced bread so I am very worried if we don't get pressure on Chappel then he is going to pick us apart all day long.  Chappel is a senior and appears to be much better then he was last year.  Don't sleep on the Hoosiers, they're better then we're giving them credit for.

What i was referring to was they will just become so predictable if they can't run.  Watching their game against Akron was pretty pathetic.  Chappell threw 4 TD's, but was less than stellar.  His players were completely wide open on every pass,  I know our D is rough, but I doubt we leave them that wide open.

They also could hardly run against Akron's D.

I don't doubt they could come out firing, but i doubt they hang with us the whole game

with "screen pass".  Same idea.  I predict that you will see more wide open hoosiers.  A shootout for sure but I think Um can come out on top.  I will say that I will be interested in TOP.  If UM can keep the ball for sustained drives to keep IU off the field.  If IU can do the same to the UM D, that could end up being trouble.

I predict....

1.  They'll show the clip of Bill Lynch throwing his gum last year 2-3 times.

2.  Pam Ward will mention that Indiana had 500 yards of offense against us last year.

3.  Someone will mention that our defense is weak and inexperienced at least several times.

I never predict scores.  But I'm hoping for a blowout.  After last year's game with Indiana, all I could think was, "We're in big trouble."  This year, I want to go into the game against Sparty with much more confidence.

56-27

Denard puts up 248 yards rushing, 212 yards passing

Indianna has 345 total yards

We punt twice, once well, and once....not so well

No field goal attempts

IU almost beat us last year at home, and their offense is very tough to prepare for so I shall predict.

IU dominates this game early and mgonation panics.  Michigan dominates the second half and wins on the last drive

M - 37 IU - 30

  1. Michigan wins. Final score: 38-35. I think Indiana is a better team than a lot of people are giving them credit for. I think Chappel and his receivers are going to give our young secondary fits.
  2. Denard (assuming he plays the whole game) will have 160 on the ground, with 2 TDs and 250 in the air, with 3 more TDs.
  3. Indiana will rack up 375 yards in the air, and another 75 on the ground.
  4. We will punt twice.
  5. 3 field goal attempts, 1 of them good.

I think along the lines of 42-31, give or take 3 on both of those since trying to predict field goals is damn near impossible with this team.

Denard goes for like 175 rushing, 225 passing for a total of around 400 DenYards.

IU puts up around 400 yards.

3 Punts

1 Field Goal attempt

Michigan 59-21  (U-M leads 31-7 at halftime, and after an opening 3rd quarter score, Denard sits out the remainder of the game)

155 rushing, 165 passing

IU will end up with 350 yards

Michigan will punt once

Michigan will attempt and make one field goal in the first half
