Hoke visited GR Christian today. (Harris and Doles)
Doles has said that Michigan is currenty the frontrunner.

2014 WR Drake Harris ( @drizzygetbusy01 ) says #Michigan's offense is "a perfect fit", likes @s_morris12: michigan.247sports.com/Board/59424/Ho…
— Steve Lorenz (@TremendousUM) January 30, 2013
It would be huge if we can get commitments from both of them. Harris has the potential to be one of the top WRs in the nation and Doles could also be a top 250 recruit.
Oh and wow Michigan Basketball sure is fun to watch.
GO BLUE!
PS
Mattison is also tentatively scheduled to visit 2014's #1 overall prospect Da'Shawn Hand ( @thehand54 ) on Saturday: 247sports.com/Player/DaShawn…

The Ted Gill Story
Coach D: "Ted, you've finished 3rd in recruiting battles consistently. MGoBlog has our class rated ninth or tenth now"
Coach Gill: "Mark, third is almost first...kind of like how we almost make a BCS game some years"
Coach D: "Ted, third place is you're fired".

What do you mean, "We lost another one to Michigan?" I don't underst...

The real favor is to take my advice and fire your f@&$ing ass because a loser is a loser.

Brady Hoke = Alec Baldwin's character
Urban Meyer = Ricky Roma
Mark Dantonio = Williamson

Cadillac
January 30th, 2013 at 8:43 PM ^
In the SEC that is usually how you get to first place.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
I thought Cadillacs were like participation ribbons?
January 30th, 2013 at 8:09 PM ^
We need those two GR kids for sure!!
January 30th, 2013 at 8:22 PM ^
If we could snag these kids it would be HUGE. I still think Harris will be a bit tough to pull but Doles seems to be looking good. My feelings on Harris is purely a gut feeling/speculation.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:20 PM ^
Harris would be a huge get, not just for a position of need, but also to see the meltdown in EL...Priceless.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:26 PM ^
What's the general idea on how good Harris is? Top 250? Top 100? 50? Receivers' highlight tapes generally look about the same to me with only a few exceptions.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:29 PM ^
Of him being the #1 receiver and a 5 star on Rivals but I'm not sure how accurate that memory is.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:30 PM ^
He'll be up around there on Scout, too. Trieu has vouched for him as the #1 in the state and McDowell is already a 5 star.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:31 PM ^
top 25
January 30th, 2013 at 8:36 PM ^
I think most sites have him between the 5th-10th best receiver in the country. Obviously it is early at this point and this could change.
Scout has him at 6
January 30th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
Wow I didn't realize the sites had evaluated to that degree already for 2014. There goes my night. Thanks. I think..
January 30th, 2013 at 9:04 PM ^
He's widely considered 50-100 now and should climb if he spends the summer on the Fball circuit instead of AAU Bball.
His rating is limited by his level of competition, so tearing up 7-on-7 tournaments or top talent at camps will prove his skill.
Artavis and Drake would make a great WR class.
January 30th, 2013 at 10:41 PM ^
Not sure what you mean by limited by his level of competition but if you are referring to the schools GR Christian plays then I think you are mistaken. Their conference includes schools such as East Grand Rapids and Lowell who are often in the state championship game and this year they nearly beat Cincinnati Moeller. Plus they played and beat arguably the best team in the state OLSM in the state championship game.
January 31st, 2013 at 10:43 AM ^
discount stats for kids in classes & states that are not talent rich in their eyes. According to Rivals, OLSM has 0 kids with BCS offers and East Grand Rapids has 0. If he lit up Damon Webb then the scouts would give him more credit.
Fair or not, kids in Div 1 and in FL or TX or GA get the benefit of the doubt from scouts. MI is not a hotbed of talent and Div 3 adds to the question mark.
I don't doubt his ability. Hoke clearly doesn't doubt his ability.
January 30th, 2013 at 10:19 PM ^
Watch the div 3 state championship game between GRC and OLSM and you will have no doubt about how good he is. If he is not the top receiver in the country for 2014 I will be shocked.
January 30th, 2013 at 10:27 PM ^
Double post
January 30th, 2013 at 8:27 PM ^
Harris may not go to Michigan, but it seems quite likely he will NOT be a Spartan.
January 30th, 2013 at 9:54 PM ^
Exactly. His talk when he opened up again was something like "I'm to start looking a top football programs" aka not MSU. MSU fans who hold out real belief he'll choose MSU at this point are like Michigan fans who are still hoping Demar Dorsey starts at Michigan.
January 30th, 2013 at 10:05 PM ^
...do it. No fly zone, baby.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:31 PM ^
Harris will be a tough pull from what I've heard and read. Ohio State, Alabama, and Florida are teams that have thrown their hat in the ring. We should have a chance though because he is an instate prospect and also likes our offense.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:37 PM ^
Mattison is on our side.
January 30th, 2013 at 8:39 PM ^
One more, and we'll get another GRIII
!
January 30th, 2013 at 8:53 PM ^
Probably drove past him on my way home from work!
January 30th, 2013 at 8:54 PM ^
There are two elite in state prospects this year, Mcdowell and Harris. Michigan must land them both.
January 30th, 2013 at 9:00 PM ^
McDowell and Hand bookend DEs?
Yes please. Where do we sign up?
January 30th, 2013 at 9:01 PM ^
Well, there's Webb, but he's gone to the bad guys...
January 30th, 2013 at 9:11 PM ^
Just my opinion, but I think Harris and Mcdowell are both a notch above Webb and not just because Webb is going to Ohio. Harris has the size and speed combination that NFL scouts drool over. McDowell is as explosive as they come for a 6'6 300 pound frame.

or a steak dinner on me to every person in this thread.

Chop house? I'm going to hold you to that.

Are steaks good in Bolivia if you're wrong?
January 30th, 2013 at 10:05 PM ^
It's where a lot of cheap beef imports come from.. McDonald's and such.
So.. No, not really.

with a baked potato and asparagus.

You get a steak too. It would be unfair to deny you.
I missed the last one so I'm here to cash in.
January 31st, 2013 at 7:32 AM ^
I didn't fight my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables. Nonetheless, I hope I don't get this particular steak dinner.
January 30th, 2013 at 9:44 PM ^
I'm only commenting in this thread for the free steak dinner.
Hopefully I'll never have to hold you to it!

Ditto.

I like steak
January 30th, 2013 at 9:54 PM ^
I hope to not have any. Would rather have the other.
