Hoke to visit Joe Bolden tomorrow
Michigan football coach Brady Hoke is expected to be at Colerain High School late morning or early afternoon on Tuesday, according to the Colerain athletic department.
Colerain senior linebacker Joe Bolden verbally committed to the Wolverines in April.
I'm guessing this is just standard procedure but won't he be taking classes at Michigan in a couple weeks since he's an early enrollee?

Could be he's dropping in on the coach, not necessarily Joe Bolden.
December 13th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
He's there to give Bolden a Sugar Bowl ticket.

to visit another recruit as well.

I don't know who else it would be.
Davis is a junior RB who lost his season when he blew out a knee in week 2. He ran for about 10 yards/carry as a sophomore, and Colerain plays as tough a schedule as any public school in the state.

The only other notable recruit at Colerain is S Andre Jones and he's committed to Cincinnati. http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=5455170
I guess Hoke could make his rounds to Caleb Stacey at Oak Hills and AJ Williams at Sycamore (all commits). Colerain, Sycamore and Oak Hills are all in the same league so they are pretty close to each other.

Just got a text from a friend who has a son on the team that Hoke met him at Northmont High School today.

I bet he has a syllabus and a recommended reading list for Bolden, in addition to some high-quality coaching and powwow-ing to offer on the visit.

going to have a competition of epic proportions. It'll start with archery. Then jousting. The sumo wrestling. Then pogo jumping. It'll end with dolphin surfing in the Caribbean. They'll get to the Caribbean by climbing to the top of Mount Everest and hang gliding to Costa Rica. The fact that the air is too thin to hang glide on Mount Everesty won't matter. They'll race to create material lighter than air.
I'm almost 100% sure this is all going to happen.

Does anyone know if Colerain High produces a lot of D-I recruits?

Tons of kids play and it is super intense, but for the life of me I cannot name an all American level player to come out of cinci in the past 15 years. Devier posey? The celek family?

Michigan's had 3 guys that came from Colerain over the years, BJ Askew,Cobrani Mixon and Mister Simpson. They've had 4 kids that I can remember that went to Ohio, A few kids that went to Cincinnati. A few that went to Miami University, Kentucky, and the Bobcats. Another recruit last year was committed to Wisconsin, then was looking at Michigan but ended up at Kent State. I believe grades had a factor in that decision, FB Trayion Durham.
NOTE: i grew up and still live 10 minutes from Colerain High School. They were one of our rivals throughout school and had numerous family members that went to school there.

Select year and then Input the school name. Not a lot from what I saw. A 2006 recruit:
LB | Cobrani Mixon | Cincinnati, OhioColerain | 6'2" | 220 | 4.6 | 4 stars | 5.8 | 8 |
---|
He somehow ended at Kent State.

Last Colerain player @ UM I believe was Cobrani Mixon, who transferred to Kent St.

is Meyer is trying to get Bolden to visit. This could have something to do with that.
December 13th, 2011 at 9:16 AM ^
Or it could have to do with the fact that Hoke is a good recruiter, and knows that consistently making the rounds to high schools is critical to sustaining success and building relationships.

has made up thier mind on the penalty, they need to announce so these kids know what they are getting into...Urban is most likey telling these kids nothing is going to happen. Granted they could just de-commit but still.
December 13th, 2011 at 12:06 AM ^
I believe Meyer would actually telling thr truth otherwise he wouldnt accept the coaching job the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if NCAA decides to let OSU off the hook.
December 13th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
If Mark Emmert does anything to Gordon Gee, it will be playful slap on the rump followed by a vigorous wrestling match in the nude.
Urban knows it too, which is why he's at OSU in the first place. The NCAA washed its hands of Auburn's situation, and it won't do anything in Columbus.
LSU Freek captures the situation:

What does the sign in the crowd saying... "I have the worst Dad" supposed to be refering too? It appears to be put in by LSU Freek.
December 13th, 2011 at 12:37 PM ^
Meyer supposedly left Florida for family reasons, but now, a year later, is taking this job at Ohio. So basically it's commenting on the fact that he isn't spending time with his kids like he said he would.
December 13th, 2011 at 12:10 AM ^
Slow night on the internets...dammit, why don't we get Hoke on god damned flight aware in case Meyer is contacting our recruits across the nation. Srsly.
December 13th, 2011 at 12:11 AM ^
I really do not see anything so dramatic about this situation. Our head football coach is making an in home visit to one of our recruits who has already enrolled. Cool.
December 13th, 2011 at 12:21 AM ^
How about no dots? Is that better? ...smh...
December 13th, 2011 at 9:12 AM ^
ok stop on dots
December 13th, 2011 at 2:00 AM ^
I'm sure Hoke makes rounds every so often to keep in touch with high school coaches as well as making sure commits feel comfortable. Don't think there's anything going on here.
December 13th, 2011 at 2:24 AM ^
2013 RB Chris Davis and 2014 WR Travon Hudson go to Colerain FYI

hoke needed to stop in to epic double point at all the future recruits who will sign with michigan. standard procedure nothing to see here
December 13th, 2011 at 12:35 PM ^
Hoke would do an epic double point at your avatar....

I got scared after seeing what happened to Pittman, but then I remembered Brady Hoke was our coach
December 13th, 2011 at 8:06 AM ^
Too bad he has to venture into the state of Ohio to do this. Hope his tank is full.
December 13th, 2011 at 8:27 AM ^
is a really big dude. He can handle himself down south. I wouldn't want to mess with him.
