Hoke on ESPN Radio at 12:30 Eastern

Submitted by 74polSKA on

My Hoke love outshines my Herd hatred so I'll share that ESPN just ran a Cowherd promo declaring Coach will be on the show at 12:30 eastern time if anyone wants to hear the dichotomy between intelligent inspiration and . . . well . . . Cowherd.  Go Blue.

Cowherd will kiss Brady Hoke's ass because it is his style to kiss the asses of his guests.  Also, even considering how much of a dolt Cowherd is, anything that gives an interview with Hoke a national audience, especially after a high profile victory, is great for the program.

So, for anyone who has ever said, "Colin Cowherd can kiss Michigan's ass," you are going to get your wish fulfilled today.

Herd is bringing it.  Some great questions.  I'm not a herd fan, but he's doing a great job with this interview.  Very pro UTL/Michigan.

Night games…how much influence do you have and want?? once a year brady would like… but maybe not later in the year or during the traditional games.

Running offense not your style??… really fortunate to have Denard.  Al Borges has done a lot in a lot of places.  Didn’t want to put a square peg in round hole with Denard.  But will move to their style eventually.

Denard used to playing under center.

Any NFL interest?... Loves where he’s at and the plan is to be in AA for a long time.  No place he’d rather be.  wants to help kids learn and show them life skills and it’s why he’s coaching.

How do you keep kids especially stars.. away from boosters and other problems?.. feels bad for kids, it’s great they can get a degree and can play at Michigan, but it’s up to them to keep character and integrity.  He can’t protect them from everything, but he has 115 sons and he’s going to try to look after them the best he can.

Colin says game is greatest game he’s ever seen.  Does Brady know how good it is when he’s playing in it?  Blinders on… making decisions.  Wants to put players in position to win the game.  2am on Sunday Brady finally realized that was a heck of a football game.

What’s the number one , rank of importance with conference???  Beat Ohio is #1.  Greatest rivalry.  Michigan State is awfully important.  Take care of those two things things and you can find yourself in a good place.

Going into Ohio to get kids feels good right???  Coach Bo said if one thing is your not playing against them.. passionate rivalry, well coached.  Great to get Ohio guys in AA.

Looking like Mike Golic??? Brady says he heard that and sounds like Chris Farley motivational speaker, but he’s afraid he looks like him too.

Night games:  Talked with DB and would like to do a night game at least once a year, probably early in the season due to weather/traditions.

Not having his personnel:  General stuff we've heard, Borges has been in many systems and used various talent . . .

Story in NYT about his marriage:  I was not familiar with this story and look forward to reading.  Herd followed up with question about coaching in the NFL and Coach said he loves college and will be at Michigan as long as "they don't screw this up".  He loves teaching life skills as well as football.

How do you avoid trouble with fame/boosters:  Teach the players like you teach your kids.  Character and Integrity of Michigan.

Do you know how good the game is in the heat of battle:  Just focused on putting the players in positions to win the game.  Didn't hit him until late/early Sunday morning how great it was.

Rank priorities at Michigan:  Beat OHIO and beat MSU.  If you get that done, everything else will fall into place.

Recruiting, does it feel good to get Ohio kids:  Bo used to say that if you have them on your team, you won't be playing against them in November.

Finished with some jokes about looking like Golic and sounding like Matt Foley.  All in all, we have the best coach in the country and I could listen to him read the phone book and come away ready to take on the world.

Edit:  Man, I must type and/or think slowly.

Cowherd had ND over UM as his "Lock of the week".  Didn't hear much about that =)

In general, I cannot listen to Brady Hoke without cracking a comforted smile.
