Hoke classy on SVP show
When Van Pelt asked him about MSU missing out on a BCS bowl, he responded by saying, "I feel bad for Michigan State, they got a bad break by losing the championship game, we were lucky to be in our situation"
I love how he represents our University.

for hoke to go out of his way to say he felt bad for msu spoke volumes. think dantonio would ever say that about um? better yet, imagine how hoke would have handled the "little brother" comment were he msu's coach? instead of poking jabs at a college kid's height and ominously pontificating about pride before the fall, i'd hazard to guess hoke would have said something like "that team has a right to be say what they say because they beat us on the field today, we respect their program, but we look forward to another shot at them next year."
hoke may be the classiest coach we've ever had here, bo included (flash back to bo head phone smashing rose bowl tirades).

Yeah, this is a dog bites man story. Man biting dog, on the other hand, would be a headline like "Dantonio does not act like an immature douchebag."
December 5th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
Of course Hoke was classy. Hoke is classy. Can you imagine any circumstances under which Hoke and Denard would finish a great Big Ten Championship Game and then immediately start talking shit about Michigan State? Those two schools and programs just behave differently.

The best part is right after Hoke gets off the line and SVP counts up the 'bellweather' programs going forward in the Big Ten:
SVP: "OSU with Urban Meyer
Wisconsin with Bielema
Michigan with Hoke"
Ryan: "Gotta throw Dantonio in there..."
SVP: "Ehhhh I don't know..."
Muahahahaha

He could have said, " I would have gone for it on that fourth down."

Dion Simms (@MSUCollege Boy) is not being so classy like most other Spartans.
"LOL Uof M in the sugar bowl ?????? They bout to get embarrassed"
"They probly only put them there cuz this the first time they made it or got the chance to a real bowl game these past few years lol"
December 5th, 2011 at 3:51 PM ^
Sims placed that tweet one one of the multiple stolen laptops he had in his possession
December 5th, 2011 at 4:04 PM ^
Let's give him a break. He's basically Robin Hood, we all know the DPS has an abundance of resources.
December 5th, 2011 at 7:59 PM ^
Because, you know, MSU has won a bowl game in the last ten years....oh wait...
December 5th, 2011 at 3:49 PM ^
Why is Michigan going to the Sugar Bowl somehow about MIchigan State? Can we all stop obsessing over their obsession with us? (Obseption)
December 5th, 2011 at 3:52 PM ^
Let's just get our restraining order against them and move on.
December 5th, 2011 at 4:03 PM ^
If a restraining order from State fans was possible, I would have done it years ago.
December 5th, 2011 at 3:58 PM ^
If MSU hadn't gone to the championship game, 10-2 Michigan still would have been picked by the Sugar Bowl ahead of 10-2 MSU. It isn't Michigan's fault that nobody around the country wants to watch MSU play.
December 5th, 2011 at 4:11 PM ^
See 1999 Orange Bowl selection.
December 5th, 2011 at 4:15 PM ^
Taking that further, if Michigan had lost to Wisconsin in the championship game, MSU still would not be in a BCS Bowl. BSU, TCU, KSU, and Baylor would all probably be picked ahead of them. If TCU was eligible, TCU would have been automatically picked.
December 5th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
I'm paraphrasing, but when Miller was complaining about MSU getting jobbed Palm told him Michigan is Michigan and MSU isn't!
December 5th, 2011 at 3:58 PM ^
Dantonio would've said "oh well, sucks for them...SUCKAS!"
It almost pains me that our coach is so awesome, mature and a class act and their coach is such a DOUCHE and an ass hat and people really think he's okay.
Both he and Brian Kelly...Hoke should never be compared unless it's someone saying they shouldn't be compared.
December 5th, 2011 at 4:05 PM ^
This will drive the Spartoons even crazier than if he'd mocked them outright.
December 5th, 2011 at 4:40 PM ^
So when our coach is classy, it drives them nuts.
When their coach ISN'T classy, it drives us nuts.
Sort of says something about the two fanbases IMO.
December 5th, 2011 at 4:18 PM ^
What I find funny and sad about MSU's reaction to Michigan being in a BCS bowl while they are not is how fast they complained. To develop that sort of complaint so quickly, they were clearly thinking about it before the game. Otherwise the initial response would be disappointment about losing. Instead, they immediately start complaining about UM. They clearly thought at some point during the week "if we lose then Michigan is going to go to a BCS bowl and we won't."
I'd hope no Michigan player or coach would worry about anything other than winning the B1G championship during the week leading up to the game.
December 5th, 2011 at 4:48 PM ^
They were complaining LAST WEEK.
December 5th, 2011 at 5:19 PM ^
Hoke never fails to impress me. He will be a Saint by the time he is done in A2.
December 5th, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
I wanted Harbaugh at first. Shame on me.
December 5th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
No need to neg this guy... he repented. All is right now.
December 5th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
Its amazing how the respective fanbases have juxaposed the two coaches. How Hoke acts is what Dantonio is proclaimed to be, and Dantonio's frequent douchery is all to apparent to those outside looking in. It's awful.
December 5th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
The only way Hoke could become classier is if he grew a mustache. Please Coach Hoke?
December 5th, 2011 at 11:07 PM ^
woukd Hoke ever grow a "buckstache"!
December 5th, 2011 at 10:05 PM ^
Headline redundant.
