The people of East Lansing are actually quite tame. Didn't take much crap at all before or after the football game this year, and didn't get anything going to the first game at Munn earlier this year.
Worst that happened post game from Munn was having some random people yell from a Jeep that probably didn't have a clue what we were even there for. There were a couple of people around me that were HIGHLY annoying at the game, but I think those were individual cases because:
Annoying Person 1 was clearly mentally handicapped. This was painfully obvious around halfway through the first given the total lack of cohesion in everything coming out of his mouth (And the occasional Goofy-like exuberance). The unavoidable conclusion that this was the case and therefore it would be highly classless to retaliate is why I did not turn around and ask "Did you by any chance attend Michigan State University?"
Annoying Person 2 was just straight up rude. After the Star Spangled Banner, we start up Let's Go Blue tube-style, and of course we're going to do that at Munn just like we do at Yost, minus the tuba. The women proceeded to get angry at us because the flagman hadn't quite made it off of the ice yet when we started clapping. This same women had a small baby that cried at least twice, IIRC, with no effort at control on her part. She also changed its diaper right there in the bleachers. She is what we like to make fun of Sparty for being, but she was one out of everyone around us. Kirk Cousins actually showed up and was watching the game from the concourse behind us and even he didn't say a word. If I had not been in their arena and therefore prone to losing a verbal argument by default, I would definitely have had a word or two for her. She was clearly an experienced MSU hockey fan as well, because she knew the place is quiet enough for her baby to sleep in.

Actually I thought I heard State is on Spring Break so they are all trashing Mexico instead of Michigan for a while.

Dave Brandon: Detailed and thorough investigation proves that Freep report was intentionally misleading.
Hearing alot of concern from State about this series. Seems their fans are hesitant to go because they don't want to hear the Victors all weekend long.
Are you going on Friday or Saturday? I kind of want to go, and if I did it would be on Saturday in anticipation of being there for the series-clincher.

State fans and students are not anything to be scared of.
I went to the football game there this year and all they did was yell at us a little, make some smart ass remarks, and didn't even throw anything in our direction. Also, keep in mind, we were at the bars all friday night, and spent all of saturday morning before the game in the student neighborhoods at msu house parties. Almost every msu fan I actually spoke to asked me the same question, "Did you go to UM?". I would of course say yes and then they wouldn't know of anything else to say "shit talking" wise.
After we got out of the student neighborhoods walking to the game, noone else said a single thing to us. Don't be afraid of going to MSU, especially since most of the students are gone this week anyway. Even if they were there, this is hockey, no msu fans are going to be that fired up about it like they would basketball or football.
MSU fans bark, they don't bite. They are not like OSU at all.
Haha, without fail that is the first thing any MSU fan will ask you if you say you root for UM. I'm getting tired of explaining the fact that I went to GVSU doesn't mean I can't be a passionate lifelong UM fan. I think I'm just going to start lying and save my breath.

Lie. Tell them you went to DeVry or UM-Dearborn or Central. Then go to spartantailgate.com to laugh at the thread they will start about their encounter with you. All Spartan fans enjoy sharing LOLs about "Walmart Wolverine" encounters. Why would you deny them that one joy in their life.
I would lie if I were you. Its crazy man, MSU is the only school in all of college sports where every single fan actually went to MSU. I guess it makes sense though, why else would one root for MSU unless they went there.
Still plenty of tickets available. A group of my friends are going to Friday's game. We bought 15 tickets @ $10 each through MSU's ticket office. Very cheap, and they are on the blue line (the fact that we got tickets on the blue line on Wednesday afternoon leads me to believe that ticket sales are VERY slow so far).
control the students a bit more.
