Hockey tickets for Friday vs Ferris
My son (a junior in HS) has a campus tour/info session on Friday morning and there is a good chance we will hang around for the wrestling meet v Iowa and/or hockey game v Ferris. What is our best bet for hockey tickets? Order off the web and pay the service fees; purhase at the box office in person during the day on Friday; or just show up before game time and try to get some cheap from somebody that has extras? Once in, is there a way for us to sit in the student section? I am figuring he would have more fun there.

If you wanna make sure you get tickets, I'd order them now.

If were to get the tix off of students from facebook marketplace would there be an issue for us getting in with them? My son could pass as a student, but not me.

You don't need ID to get into the student section. You should be fine getting in.

Just keep in mind that you'll have to stand the whole game, and that there is profanity in some of the student cheers. Not out of control or anything that a high school Junior hasn't heard, but if you are worried about that sort of thing. Here is a chant after each Michigan goal, probably the worst as far as profanity goes

For goal:
*Goal count*
Sieve sieve sieve sieve sieve sieve sieve, it's all your fault, it's all your fault, it's all your fault!
*Go Blue (Cowbell)*
Cya chant is for opposing team penalty.

As to sneaking in to the student section, you shouldn't have a problem. I mean, I'm a student, so I don't know what the guys who stand by the section entrances do for non-students, but I don't think there will be any issues. Get there early at least 10 minutes before gametime before the seats totally fill up.
I would recommend Section 18, next to the band, on the end where they do Score-O, and where some of the leaders of the student section sit.
Good luck to your son in applying, and make sure he knows M is the best school in the country.
