Solid play plus a bit of puck luck. Shots are even but Michigan seemed more dangerous for several stretches. Need to kill the last minute of that terrible penalty at the end of the 1st and keep the pressure on the Gophers.

It pains me to say this but our uniforms are among the ugliest I have ever seen in any sport, at any level. The pants, on their own, might be kinda fly in a retro sort of way but with the rest of the kit I am just not feeling it.

Is FSD showing the Minnesota feed? The announcers are so unabashedly pro-Gopher that I can’t think of any other explanation. Gonna have to turn the sound down.

The uniforms looks modestly better in person (as uniforms often do) but I generally agree with you: They're awful. Striping was added this year on both this uni and the stock white and maize ones, which was a significant improvement over all, but it still looks like a mess. Such a pity, given the potential for colored shoulder yokes. Michigan's road uniforms have been varying levels of mediocre for almost 10 years in my opinion, though a lot of people like the Adidas ones that didn't have any white on them.

That's certainly the Minnesota Fox broadcast, and while they're simulcast in Detroit they are under no obligation to change their normal broadcasting tone. FWIW the radio announcers are excellent and, while focused on Minnesota, impressively objective when observing Minnesota's opponents. I feel like a welcome guest whenever I listen to them call a Minnesota-Michigan game.

or first coach of any opposing hockey team?

Either way, an important win and an impressive win. This Michigan Hockey Team is consistently playing solid hockey now under Mel and its largely due to their defense.
