Hockey Hello: Matthias Samuelsson
Apparently players who were born in 2000 are now committing for hockey:

6'2" at 14? He's going to be a big boy.
Yes let's hope the coordination skills progress along with his size.
I'm almost to 5,000 Points!!!!!!!
BOOM
Dude, we don't talk about points... it's considered poor form in these parts
. . . but . . . POINTS! Can I haz more?
If I wasn't so lazy, I'd downvote this. Congrats!
Samuelsson will be a good player. I know this because Ulf Samuelsson was my favorite player in NHL '96 on the Genesis.
I know nothing about hockey.

Seriously. There weren't 15 different buttons to push or a bunch of other crap to do other than play the damn season and beat some ass.

NHL 94 is the best hockey game ever
Here's a great story written last month about the development and legacy of NHL 94:
I believe you're right. It's been 16-17 or so years since I played it last. I think I had 96 but didn't like it as much as 94.
I think that was the version they were playing in swingers

You must never have played Wayne Brady's 3D Hockey '98 for N64 then..
My wife (girlfriend at the time) gave me a Sega with the NHL game as a Christmas gift way back in 92. At the time I was a senior in college. I don't think that I have ever been happier for a Christmas gift than when I opened that.
Also, you could make Gretzky's head bleed.
What does Ulf Samuelsson have to do with this?
an Ulf Samuelsson hockey stick signed by Lindros and Messier. Very strange.
Pretty strange you decided to talk about an Ulf Samuelsson stick too. I mean it says right in the article that Matthias is the son of Kjell.
Who's going to brag about meeting Mikael? Just as relevant as Ulf is in this conversation.
I've never met Mikael
I met McCarty at the billiards room above the union
at a basketball clinic at Schoolcraft College

I met Bonzi Wells like a few times a year at the mall because we live in the same town.
Did you share a hit pretzel with him?
No, I don't know him, but I have a coworker who's in the same bowling league, and I imagine they've smashed a plate of nachos or a pitcher together.
I'm having trouble keeping up with these hockey commits. Is there a website out there compiling these guys by (predicted) class? Class rankings?
If annotated by draft status (results of drafts past or projections of drafts future), that'd be the dream.

I know it sounds totally random but that's the best list of college hockey commits on the web (AFAIK)
Nothing concrete yet, but it appears he has a brother and he has also committed.
Yes. I saw a tweet from some one I think is a teammate of theirs tweeted a congratulations to a Luke Samuelsson (who's twitter is locked to confirmed followers)

Confirmed here.
Interesting that we've suddenly been taking a number of brothers. Recruiting tactic?
Hymans, Pastujovs, now Samuelssons
Also a number of players with family history in NHL front offices. Scott and Don Luce, Jim Hughes, Kjell Samuelsson.
STOP MAKING ME FEEL OLD!

The recruiting cycle comes earlier and earlier every year. Wow!
