When I first saw this I thought "Repost? Didn't I post this a while ago?" but then I realized I posted about Cooper Marody. We'll all be confused in a few years as we now have Connor Murphy ('14) and Cooper Marody ('15) along with Cutler Martin ('14) and Chrisitan Meike ('14)

No word yet on when Chris Martin or Chris Mortonson will be committing

He sounds like a great get (lots of offers, '1st round talent') but he's playing in a league I don't ever recall having a commit from before. Is he playing down a level to maintain eligibility? Where does the GOJHL fall in the heirarchy of junior leagues?

The GOJHL is a newer league, but is the highest ranked Junior "B" league in North America. A famous Alumni of the MWJHL, who merged into the GOJHL in 2007 is Marty Turco. Other notable Alumni are Riley Sheahan, Mark Scheifele, and Boone Jenner.

I would say he's a late bloomer. It's hard to tell trying to find scouting reports from two years ago, but he played AAA the year before going to the GOJHL. I would assume he didn't have a roster spot on an OJHL team and picked the next best league available.

Although he had the talent to go very high in the OHL Priority Selection, when he made it clear that the NCAA was an option for him his stock tanked.

He actually made the Owen Sound roster out of rookie camp last year, but decided to stay in the GOJHL to preserve eligibility. I know that some CHL writers have inflated egos and think they can have any player they want (Tyler Motte), but the Owen Sound Attack guys were pretty sure he would report this year and he didn't.
