Hockey garage sale open thread
1. Open thread worthy, when (unless connected via WiMax), no one can bring an actual computer to said untelevised event, so, at best, this thread can be updated live via phone only? 2. Four hours in advance? That much anticipation? An open thread (to me, and, I humbly submit, as it's been used on this blog) signifies real time commenting on an ongoing event. Usually (cough, always, I think, on this blog), a live sporting event. A competition, if you will. A contest.
Will we be having an open thread for the Ann Arbor Art Fair as well?
I'll never understand why people click on something only to complain about what it's about.
Haters gonna hate bro. There is always "that guy" on a message board and they can't wait for topics like this to pounce on and bitch about it. I just pass over the topics that I have no interest in.
Is when the first person in this 200+ people line got here. So clearly my post at 5 am, a whopping 3.5 hours early, was jumping the gun. I apologize for cluttering up the board with this untimely post.
Just hoping to get something so the 3 hr drive was not a waste.
"I just pass over the topics that I have no interest in."
Yeah, that's what most people do. God bless the ones that don't, though. They make Saturday mornings just that much more eventful.
Somebody was not happy at quarter to 6 this morning that's for sure.
I didn't even know the hockey team had garage sales. What other types of things might be there?
Is there a long line there right now? I'm sitting in bed and can be there in 10 minutes.
He said there was a line of about 200 people when he got there, but texted a little bit ago saying that the line was moving. I'd check it out if I were you, but expect a line.
I got here at 8 and half the stuff was already gone and there was no line to get in. Some people here make me sick though here, they grabbed like 20 sticks.

It makes you sick that some people go to these things to try and help supply for kids that might not be able to afford brand new equipment?

That's really what this event is for. The souvenir hounds aren't really going to get that. 99% of the people who are waiting in line are either entire youth hockey teams camped out to get their gear for the season, or rec players hoping to save some cash on sticks and such.

They say 8:30 is when the doors open but they usually open it earlier than that. Today the doors opened at 7:45. All the stuff goes by really fast. The garage sale is crazier than black friday imo.

I got a great warm winter coat there last year for 20 bucks, and as a bonus it had once been owned by Scooter Vaughan.
