Hockey escapes, 4-3 @ WMU
Per Michigan hockey Twitter account (twitter.com/Michigan_Hockey), we beat WMU @ Western, 4-3 tonight. 4 PP goals, and we outshoot WMU almost 2-1. Were down 1-0, and 2-1, before PP offense kicked into gear. Next game tomorrow night at Yost.

Well. 6-7 in conference now. 11-10 overall. Assuming they can get by WMU, the next two series will tell the story of their season. Alaska. Ferris State. Perennial Michigan punching bags--who are both solid this year.
Stranger things have happened?

I am glad to see that the PP kicked in tonight, but at the same time i have to sigh that even strength did little on the scorecard.

Wow - giving up 3 goals to Western can't be good. From all reports, they were struggling to score at all recently. And since you indicate we outshot them by a 2-1 margin, that again leads me to believe Hoagie was suspect again tonight.
We can't go anywhere this season if he does not come around. We have no alternatives, and what's worse, we have nobody coming in next year to challenge him either... at least not that I'm aware of since Jack Campbell's decommitment, but maybe Red had some snake oil of his own...

The first goal Hogan gave up was absolutely unacceptable.
The puck caromed off a stick and rode up the side of the net, off his back--and into the net.
At least Sparks is coming around, and Louie is producing like we thought he would.
