Hockey CC: Jim Harbaugh
let's look at some of the info here.
- Contract does not expire after this season.
- Made spontaneous comment out of nowhere about being on the Michigan bench a year ago, later dismissing it as a joke.
- this posted in a front page post by Brian back when those comments were made-

Red Berenson has two years left on his contract and says this will be his last one. Speculation about his replacement has been rife. Veritably so. Folks around the program have been chattering about football coach Jim Harbaugh taking over for a few years now, primarily Michael Spath at the Wolverine but also from guys at the Daily:

people jumped up and down on here and all over the country saying Harbaugh to Michigan was a pipe dream. And it happened. Could Hackett pull it off?

Not right now we need him to put his focus on football. In 10 years after he wins his 3rd national title and 7th big ten title (being realistic) then if he wants to also coach hockey im cool with that

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to all of the practices, either.
Remember, he doesn't get sick, doesn't observe major holidays, and doesn't take days off. He's a jackhammer.

The State game he was there for most of 2nd and through intermission but was no where to be found in third.

Obviously, this thread is in jest but I think there is some interesting discussion potential all the same on the subject, although it's a near future (not that near) scenario, I believe.
As I recall, Red has said numerous times now that this last extension - which lasts until the 2015-16 season - would more than likely be his last and that at the time he would definitely step aside, but he has also said that if at any point he felt he was getting in the way of hockey succeeding, he would do it then. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that Michigan might very well let him retire on his ostensibly stated terms at this point if Berenson himself doesn't pull the trigger before then.
That's just the impression I get. I could be way off.

His Score-o failure makes him a highly suspect candidate.

He'd never do it, but I bet Harbaugh could be a successful hockey coach, or soccer coach or softball coach. Obviously not all of his skills would translate, but a lot of them would.
By the same logic, I'd also bet he would make a successful CEO if he was able to build the culture around him or come into an environment where he'd be appreciated.

Harbaugh obviously knows hockey from his youth days along with John and Jack
