Hmm. A good feeling this morning?
Last week, I sensed the doom Could not put my finger on it, but the whole day was a countdown to catastrophe, I could just feel it. This week is the opposite, I like the day, I like the feel, this feels right. I think the conclusion of the NCAA investigation, exposure of the Freep Jihad, and the unfair and unethical reporting by the Freep in the wake has sent this team back into the foxhole, the same one that sent them out of the gates fast the last two years.
Illinois is in the crosshairs today. Michigan is back today.
Go Blue.

I got a feeling...and its called hang over.
Let's hope our boys can get after it today, get up and get loud if you are going to be there.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:35 AM ^
I told all of my friends that gamble that if there was ever a lock, it was this game. Take the Zookers. I even typed up my top 5 reasons why and sent to them.

<br>No chance we lose this game now.

someone's now richer and celebrating a win!!
:)

Hangovers: Never get them, easy to avoid.
Seriously it's easy, just chug a ton of water before you go to sleep. That is all.
November 6th, 2010 at 8:30 AM ^
With 2-3 more defensive stops a game. I'm cool with shootouts, as long as we come out on top.
November 6th, 2010 at 5:38 PM ^
"...as long as we come out on top."
a good principle for many things in life.
November 6th, 2010 at 8:37 AM ^
This week started off bad but is ending good. I see a victory today capping off the week. Should be an exciting day watching Denard, hoping for a 3rd 200/200 yard game. He came so close last week.
November 6th, 2010 at 8:41 AM ^
I thought last week, no way in hell Michigan loses to PSU and they lost. Today I'm thinking no way in hell Michigan beats Illinois, so maybe that means we'll win? Reverse karma or something like that.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:43 AM ^
That's exactly where I was/am about the last game and this one. Maybe the homefield gets us a few extra stops on D.
November 6th, 2010 at 8:48 AM ^
Shook off the hangover this morning and saw that ESPN America is showing the game in the UK. Off to the pub I go to watch Denard school some kids!
November 6th, 2010 at 10:11 AM ^
From my peeps to your peeps, and His ears. Let Denard demonstrate!
November 6th, 2010 at 8:53 AM ^
I just realized tonight we switch our time, so that means an extra hour to party this weekend after a win!
November 6th, 2010 at 9:06 AM ^
I feel the same way especially after what happened to us last year at their house. We have lost to them two times in a row and we aren't losing a third. It has been a while since we have really dominated an oppenent. I hope this is the game where things start to click.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:08 AM ^
Right on the same page with you mate. Last week I could just feel the story line: "walk on QB rises to the occasion and saves the season.....", and the lead-in just looked too good to be true. It was Halloween-spooky to hear all of the talk that we would be facing an offense that would make our defense look credible and that Royster was MIA, etc..
This week feels much more balanced. Illinois is a team on the rise with a solid defense, but they are still Illinois and we can really beat these guys. Hopefully we will just line up in a 4-2-5 and play fast physical football without the confusing wrinkles that get everyone out of place. The offense will do their job.
GO BLUE!
November 6th, 2010 at 9:07 AM ^
Just think..if we could just start giving up 2-3 less TDs per game....we'd be sweet!
November 6th, 2010 at 9:12 AM ^
reduced to watching the defense through my hands as I cower in fear. I really hate that we just gave up 41 points to one of the worst offenses in the Big Ten. We basically make every team look like the best offense you've ever seen. In spite of all this, I will be cheering our guys on. I still like watching RR's offense shread people to bits. This team is in the top 5 in the nation on O and the bottom of the nation on D... What a clusterfuck of a season again. My wife is sick of the yelling every weekend, and I am to. I will always pull for our guys, it's just been hard to be optimistic these days. Here's to hoping that we can cause a couple turnovers today and swing the momentum our way. Go Blue!!!
November 6th, 2010 at 9:26 AM ^
This seems like as good a place as any to wish my team (and yours) a great game. I considered not watching because it's just so depressing to see them struggle, but I realized I have to stand by the team. I will be on the couch, cheering my ass off, channeling cheesy motivational posters for positive thoughts.
Go Blue! Let's do it!
November 6th, 2010 at 9:27 AM ^
The public is about 90% on the Illinois moneyline.
The line hasn't moved.
Vegas is not stupid and isn't in the business of losing money.
Hope.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:49 AM ^
But explain MSU week to me? Bigger line, lots of MSU betting, no change, not close game. I'm not being snarky; really, explain it to me. I don't know what the hell Vegas is up to this season.
November 7th, 2010 at 1:19 AM ^
When significantly more people are betting one side of the line, and the line doesn't move (as it tends to do depending on where the money goes), then the "smart betters" or "high rollers" (if you will) are betting the other side. It means, usually, that the line isn't so obviously a lock as it seems.
In this case, Illinois seemed like the obvious choice (getting 3ish when they seem like they should win). This led to a mojority of the "small money" being put on the Illinois. However, the "big money" was put on Michigan (to keep the line as constant as it has been). This usually alludes to the "pros" (who do way more research and thus more winning) knowing something the general public does not (in this case, Illinois doesn't defend the spread well - at all).
November 8th, 2010 at 10:24 AM ^
The little guy was right. MSU covered, and then some. And Illinois, while "closer than the experts think!", covered. So the big money lost, and the little money won out.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:27 AM ^
No matter how the season has gone, every game day I fell like MIchigan is going to win today. If they are playing well, I think they are going to continue. If they have been struggling, I think "today, they are going to put it all together and pull off the upset."
So, yes, I also feel good about the game today. I really hope I still feel that way around four o'clock.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:35 AM ^
Enough said.
Watch his press conference and interview from this past week. He had me pumped for this game since Wednesday. It's a good day to die gentlemen.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:56 AM ^
Just watched it.
When Molk says, "I'm not gonna lose any more. There's no way in hell that's going to happen," I tend to trust him.
Go Blue. Beat Illinois.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:00 AM ^
Molk does not play defense.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:08 AM ^
A good mean streak on D is a good thing...most of the time. Its time for iron man football.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:37 AM ^
In the end, we do have Denard Robinson and he always gives me hope.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:49 AM ^
Maybe a noon time game is the ticket. Hopefully Illini will still be asleep with the different time zone and all and we can jump off to a 28 point lead or something.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:56 AM ^
I can't explain it but I have a really good feeling today. I hope today is the day the team gets that magical 6th win.
I can't take the lugubrious mood that has shadowed this board the last few weeks. Today we will get some elucidation on the direction this team is headed. I for one feel good about this team and am excited for the future.
Go Blue!!!!!!!!!!
November 6th, 2010 at 10:01 AM ^
Weezy is free....Denard to the HOUSE!!! 200 on the ground 250 in the air...No turnovers...D stands up and makes some huge stops!
GO BLUE!!

I took some Pepto Bismol and it went away.
More seriously, I felt good going into the PSU game and we got hammered. I'm feeling anxious going into the Illinois game, so maybe that's a hopeful sign.
If nothing else, I hope these last three years have reduced the sense of entitlement that so many Michigan fans feel about victories. They are precious moments to be savored and treasured. We've gotten pretty blase about it over time.
Looking forward to a great game, and win or lose I'll be proud of my team.
Prediction: Michigan 38, Illinois 21
November 6th, 2010 at 10:15 AM ^
Maybe it is becuase there seems to be less pressure on this game, although clearly a win would be very important. I think the team will be focused and execute better than in recent games.

Does anyone on this list *ever* sit down during the game? I stand/pace/kneel but *never* sit..
BTW, I almost came to the game this weekend; my daughter is going and tried to get me to go.. The thing that sucks is that I have an airplane, so it only takes 3 hrs to get to AA and I still can't seem to make it up for a game at least once a year.
Bill, contact me if you ever want to fly up to a game..

So far we've had two kinds of losses:
- D gets a few stops but O turns it over too much (MSU/Iowa).
- D gets no stops and O makes no turnovers (PSU)
Can we put the 1st half of 1 and the 2nd half of 2 together? Plzkthxbai.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:40 AM ^
we don't put the 2nd half of 1 and the 1st half of 2 together.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:51 AM ^
After reading the title, I got that dumb Black Eye Peas song in my head. Great, that's going to haunt me for the rest of the day.
Still, the sun is shining here in NY, the weather is cool, and UM is set to qualify for a bowl game. I'll agree, I'm feeling good.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:55 AM ^
Call me captain obvious, but we need stops, a few turnovers, ( quiz when was the last time we forced one?) and a balanced o. I think the key though is not falling behind quickly, we need to play with confidence and falling behend just seems to deflate the already low tire that is our d.
I dont think we can do it today, I think we keep it close but 38-31 them, is my prediction...
November 6th, 2010 at 11:23 AM ^
gettin' it done today.
GO BLUE

I am glad to see I'm not the only person who woke up feeling good today about this game.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:33 AM ^
I love how optimistic everyone is, seriously. However, I just want to say that if we do lose today please do not blow up the board after the game. I hope like hell we win and I will be cheering my loudest from the couch in South Dakota, but optimism makes me worry.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:41 AM ^
Funny thing is I felt confident before the PSU game. I have a bit of a nauseous feel instead today.
November 6th, 2010 at 5:22 PM ^
I will do whatever it takes in my power to feel nauseous the next few weeks.
