"Three more Pro Bowlers and a successful college quarterback."
Welp throw Nauta into the QB derby with Victor and Brandon....
November 10th, 2015 at 8:10 PM ^
Rumors are that it's between Georgia and Michigan for Nauta. Prior to last weeks games:
Georgia -10 TE Targets
Michigan - Over 40 TE Targets
I like our chances.

Nauta just visited Bama this past weekend and came away with rave reviews because it''s alabama. You can never count them out. I wish hope he comes to ann arbor one more time before he commits because we are no longer fresh in his mind.

Yeah, we are kind of light at the QB spot.

Peppers at FB would wig the opposing coach the hell out. If nothing else, they'd burn a timeout trying to figure out what was about to happen.

i guarantee they have at least one pass from peppers on the call sheet each week

Doesn't matter what his blocking is like. Nauta is an elite level receiver as it is. His floor is basically Devin Funchess. He will play as a freshman if he comes to Michigan, no doubt about it. He might be our best TE too, even if Butt stays. He's that good.
November 10th, 2015 at 8:17 PM ^
He won't be better than Butt...that is just stupid...Butt is probably a 2nd round pick...a guy fresh out of high school will not be a better player
November 10th, 2015 at 9:05 PM ^
I used the word might, as in it's possible. I'm not predicting that but I also don't think it's out of the question. Yes, Butt is a very good TE, but Nauta is close to a Jabrill Peppers-level TE.
November 11th, 2015 at 1:17 AM ^
I only seen his 1 game on espn, but he looked a bit over rated to me. I'm seriously asking here, what have you seen that would make you call him a Peppers level TE. I mean come on, Peppers is probably our best player on offense, special teams, and at worst our 2nd or 3rd best player on Defense... all as a RS FR

Where has he been? I don't think I have seen him in at least a month, is he hurt or just fell down the depth chart?
November 11th, 2015 at 12:40 PM ^
Hard to say (and forever under Harbaugh will that be the case), as Jim observes his right to reveal nothing about injuries.
Bunting has looked great. But at 6'7", I'm guessing he's still working on his blocking. That kind of length can absolutely work against you if you don't know how to use it well. Especially since the TE effectively becomes the Left or Right tackle in a blocking scheme. He's both the TALLEST and LIGHTEST tight end not named Jocz or Winovich.
But, as a WR, he's looked AWESOME. I remember him fighting for 5-7 more yards against BYU when everyone expected him to go out of bounds and he just bowled/juked out 2 defenders.
The future is bright at TE under Jim!

hes a nice prospect and would certainly help the squad. i like nautas game better than chris clark as prospect but hes not oj howard or a total freak athlete like that thatll immediately challenge very good college players with speed.
hes not an immediate mismatch in the passing game vs essentially any team which is what guy like howard presented from day 1. still think hell be pretty good, i just dont see him as top 10-20 type player

Oak Tree to be planted on campus, I believe

No way around it...in looking how Harbaugh uses the TE, he could be a HUGE weapon.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:44 PM ^
With Butt's production this season and Funchess before him I don't believe any other team utilizes the TE position as well as Michigan. Not one other program.

Unless Nauta comes to Michigan, then gets beat out by a walk-on who just hustles, hustles, hustles. A TE who practices by catching cinder blocks...

That dude is amazing. Size, speed, hands...he might be the best tight end to ever play by the time he retires.
November 10th, 2015 at 8:13 PM ^
I have no idea why someone would downvote you for saying that. That dude is an amazing football player.

to land him and Gary. And (knock on wood) does not seem to be a complete pipe dream that it happens.
November 10th, 2015 at 8:15 PM ^
Him, Gary, and Walker. I don't belive yet, but it's far from impossible. That would be one hell of a class.
November 10th, 2015 at 8:21 PM ^
Rashan Gary
Isaac Nauta
Kareem Walker
Chris Daniels
Jordan Elliott
Terrance Davis/Jean Delance
could be close to the #1 class

Mecole Hardman?
Reading between the lines, I don't think Alabama is a real contender. They got the courtesy "Yeah, this moved them up" line. I genuinely think he has strong interest in coming up to play for Harbaugh. What athlete wouldn't want to with how we utilize Peppers?
That being said, I'm never completely comfortable competing with Ole Miss for recruits. I guess if he comes here, his integrity is not in question.
EDIT: By the way, that's a BR link. Good article, though.

Every year we like to start to count up all the big names we might get but my gut feeling is we usually end up with half or less. I wouldn't expect much less this year
....unless we finally unleash our #1 bagman Stephen Ross.

Might've been a 4 star on Rivals

He was (4 star and #79 nationally).
Nauta is a much better prospect.
