Historical Big Ten Standings

I found a link that has Big Ten Standings going way back (links to different decades are in the left side column)

FYI:  going back to '93, Michigan and Ohio State have been ranked top 2 on 5 occasions, but in each of those ('97, 98', '03, '06, '07) there were ties for 2nd place (or 3way ties for 1st) so it's not clear what would have happened if there were divisions.  It depends on how the divisions are split.

They were both ranked top 3, 10 times, but two of those included ties for the 3rd place position.

Sam Webb

Didn't know if anyone else heard the show this morning, but Sam said that the guys with the afternoon show looked back 17 years and found 4 times that UM/OSU would have played twice in a season. They used this as ammo for the argument behind keeping the teams in separate divisions but still playing the last week of the year. Thought that was pretty interesting.

I could live with us being in

I could live with us being in different divisions if we were to play the last week, but I don't see the league ever going for that.   Backing that is probably a losing proposition.

I think the only realistic way we can continue playing the last week is if we're in the same division.  That's what our "campaign" needs to endorse.  If some of us are calling for UM/OSU to be in the same division and some are calling for separate divisions, that divides the campaign and gives them an excuse to stick with the separate division/October game plan.

The chances that the loser of

The chances that the loser of the OSU-UM game is knocked out of the CCG are much higher than the chances of a rematch. Especially with Nebraska and PSU split as well. The CCG would probably be the winners of the OSU-UM game and the PSU-NU games.
