Henry Poggi planning another visit to Michigan

Submitted by MGoCooper on

Henry Poggi a defensive lineman from Baltimore, Maryland, is planning a second visit to Michigan. He's likely a pretty high 4 star on all the major recruiting sites, so this is a pretty big deal. He'd be an important get for the class of 2013.

I was thinking he would be a 300lb DT.  I was surprised when Rivals said he was only 250lb.  Then I noticed his 40 time...WOW!  Even with several fakes, just having a 4.7 listed is awesome.  That kid probably lives in the backfield.

Question for our defensive experts.  Wouldn't a DT prospect that's more mobile than big, be a better fit in our 4-3 defense than Saban's 3-4 with his interior DL typically mammoth run stoppers?

The class of 2013 could be the best small (14) class ever. This is going by who has offers and who is intrested in Michigan.

Yeah, this class won't be as big as our 2012 class, but it will probably be around 22 or so with normal attrition, maybe even 24.

EDIT:  OK I just recounted and before attrition we'll have 15 available for 2013 before attrition, assuming we take 28 in this class.  Even so, there will probably be a couple guys who don't get 5th years for 2013 and a few more who bail for all the reasons we usually see.  I'd be shocked if our class is below 20.
