Henne vs. Sanchez and the PBA?

Submitted by mgokev on

Didn't see this posted.  I was checking out the Dolphins page and saw some good stuff about Henne.  First link is a review of Henne vs. Sanchez by Matt Williamson, and the second link is a video Adam Schefter talking with Henne and Brandon Marshall.

It's nice to see Henne getting some love in the NFL.

I heard a story on Sirius NFL radio last year.  The guys on "Movin' the Chains" were talking to Ozzie Newsome of the Ravens, one of the best player personnel guys around.  He said they were going to take Henne over Flacco, but at the last minute decided they liked Flacco's height better and changed their minds.

I know I tend to view everything through maize colored glasses, but I agree with Williamson that Henne will have a far better career than Sanchez when all is said and done.

I personally think Sanchez is completely overrated (well, not that he's thought that highly of among QBs, but he gets much more attention than he deserves). He walked into the best situation possible for a rookie QB. Amazing defense and solid running game with one of the best OL in the leagues, probably the best. All he had to do was not turn the ball over and the team wins. I don't think he will ever be a top tier QB in the league, but he could be decent as long as he's never asked to do too much.

So, Matt "The Expert" Williamson makes one "iffy" point and proceeds with seemingly reasonable forsight into their futures in the NFL. However, it does seem that he takes merely a difference in arm-strength (debateable to what degree that dif really is) and inexhaustibly expands on it to conclude: Henne=future star, Sanchez=achilles heel.

Also, Hen 2 years, 'chez 1 year.

And I do remember 'chez throwing a couple very long strikes last year (prolly to Edwards).

Adopting this logic, since I'm more adapt to knowing when the noodles are properly cooked when making spaghetti than my brother: Me=next Top Chef, Bro=unemployed McD's fry-cook.
