Help! Need a NCAA BB Team
I need a surrogate team to support now that Michigan did not make the bracket.
Otherwise, my wife will not be convinced that I need to watch college basketball!
Is there any squad with a remote Michigan connection?
A trainer from Saginaw? A bench-warmer from downriver?
HELP!
Oakland...

I took a class during the summer after freshman year at Oakland and had a good experience. I had a Grizzly ID and oakland e-mail address; I guess that makes me an alumnus. Also, we beat them at the palace last year when LLP started his M career 4/4 from 3. Oakland has a couple decent 3-pt shooters as well.
Golden Grizzlies all the way!!! (one win would be nice)
San Diego State
Coach: Steve Fisher
I did meet the guy once, when he was coach, and he seemed like a really nice guy.
However, maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time rooting for him. Yeah, he was the coach of the '89 team, but he was also coach when the stuff with Ed Martin went happened - does the positive outweigh the negative? It doesn't for me.

Everytime I see Steve Fisher, I can't help but think of an ex-father-in-law. It's really weird.
played at Michigan as a freshman. one of if not the best shot blocker in the nation. Transferred because he didn't feel like he fit in Belein's system.
Former UM player Ekpe Udoh transferred there and is playing well for the Bears. You can also throw in the alma mater of basically anyone you know (Just supporting my friends, honey).
Another idea (my preferred choice) is to head to Vegas for at least the first weekend of the Big Dance. Strippers do not mind if you watch the game over their shoulder (or if they do they keep quiet about it).
We beat 'em twice this year.
They are going to make a run
Funny you should mention Temple. I'm throwing my support behind Cornell simply because they have a big oafish 7 foot white guy and a kid that shoots with prettier form than Jimmy Chitwood. May the best team win, sir!
Also, for some reason I get a boner for cheering for Wisconsin each year to beat some "superior" talented team in a particularly ugly game. This year could be VERY fun watching Bo Ryan scowl at an already-anointed Calipari squad as they grind out a tie game at 51 with 2 minutes remaining... come on you know you want it to happen.
I think Wisconsin will slow down the game and use the rope-a-dope against Kentucky.
I think Cornell could make the sweet 16. They played Kansas, Syracuse, and Villanova very tough.

Jay Bilas was signing their praises. In his bracket, he has them going on a Davidson-esque run.
Pittsburgh. Physical team, plus watching them now, you'll get to see the future addition to the Big 10.
Xavier?
Underdog. Hate Ohio State.
Cool "X" name.
Their 6-man or close to that, Brad Redford, is from Frankenmuth.
my wife is from Frankenmuth!
You know - Frankenmuth girls taste just like chicken.
Thanks!
Oakland Golden Grizzlies, 2nd best college hoops team in the state. Although they're likely to get beat by Pitt probably by double digits.
Baylor is a good choice like others have mentioned.
Sparty?
not sparty
Syracuse is my pick but that's cuz my dad went there. Also if I hear "Rock Chalk Jayhawk" one more time I'm gonna lose it
I like Wisconsin, Temple, and Clemson.
It's a program that does things the right way and a smart team.
Full disclosure: I went to KU and root for them unless they're playing U of M.
cheer for duke. coach k is a nice guy
If you have to cheer for Duke, make it: "Cheer for Duke because they run a similar-ish system to us and if they can do it, we can too".

UC-Santa Barbara. For Christ's sake they're the Gauchos!

Wofford {pronounced: WAW-furd }
They're a great academic school (have a majority of the Supreme Court Justices in the state of South Carolina) and have one of the smallest student bodies in the NCAA D-I (smaller than Jake Long- zing!)
They're the Terriers, can't knock that. They also have a shot to win. They've played competitively with Illinois, Michigan State and Pittsburgh, but also defeated South Carolina and Georgia.

Stoney Brook sounds kind of like Slippery Rock, but I'm not sure how long they'll be around.
UCSB, and then OK ST or GA Tech, and then Tenn, SDSU, Georgetown, or Ohio U....

Small town Indiana? Their home court IS the court from Hoosiers?
Just fill out a bracket and tell your wife you're trying to win X dollars that you'll use to take her out to dinner with (don't mention the entry fees, etc.) Or just tell her you're going to win an MGoShirt (http://mgoblog.com/content/space-shirt-bracket-contest)
