Help Long Time Board Member, FritoBandito, Negotiate a 5.0 Mustang Purchase

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on

Frito tweeted that he was thinking of selling his truck to buy a new Mustang and the official Mustang twitter account responded to him.  Thought we could have some fun and maybe help a board memeber purchase a discounted muscle car with some retweets.

99.1% of the cars sold in the world do not hold their value.

Fords are Fords. Found on Road Dead. But I will say the new Mustangs are nice. Ford did a great job in the redesign/engineering of the new model.

Who here really sits at a stop light waiting to dust someone off the line?

Most people never extract the power/perfromance of their sports cars. It's mostly about the  "hey look at me!" factor.

Lastely, it's his money so why do you care what he buys?

Do your homework and stop talking without knowing. Ford products don’t hold a candle to the charger, challenger, srt or limited build dodge line. The dodge models are all really fast daily drivers, that have near luxury interiors, including the hellcats etc. And they not only hold value, but often have “equity” at lease end (ie market value > residual). If you drive a top of the line mustang cobra versus a hellcat (or even a standard srt or even a scat pack) there isn’t really a competition. And those of us without our balls in a jar on the shelf do push our vehicles hard and do dust people off the line.

Hellcats are really fast, but when it's time to slow down and turn, they're not so fabulous.

Hellcat horsepower: 707 hp.  Hellcat weight: 4448 lbs.

Mustang GT350 horsepower: 526 hp. Mustang GT350 weight: 3650 lbs.

Quarter mile times aren't everything.

Thank you Bo. I work in the field. Challenger front ends clunk and ride like a lumber wagon. I'm much too tall for a camaro and can't see a lick out of them. 435+ Hp ride for under $30000.. 2018 are estimated at 460hp. God almighty I want one

If you have Netflix check out “Head 2 Head”. They dedicate a few episodes to testing Detroit’s finest new muscle cars side by side and it’s fucking great hearing an American V8 screaming around a track and recoding times that have the Europeans taking notice. Fine products coming out of Detroit right now.
