Help Finding Great Video Clips

Submitted by Danwillhor on
Hey, everyone. This is actually my first thread and it's a request for two video clips I can no longer find from Carr's last game. I technically found very short and out of sequence clips for the first I'll mention but cannot find the second in any length despite it being played on the season ending episode of Inside Michigan Football, IIRC. 1. The first video is the video at the end of the game when Carr addresses the team about how proud he is, how he loves them, stay in school, etc. Team has some fun with him and he gets a little choked up. It's just a great video. 2. The second video is the one I really want and cannot find at all (tried google, youtube, mgoblue, mtorrents, etc). I've only seen it twice and it's another video that shows no gameplay. It was at halftime and we were tearing UF apart but the game was close due to insane fumbles literally on the 1 inch line by a guy that never fumbled (Mike Hart) no less. Anyway, as the team is about to go out for the 2nd half, Ron English stops at the door next to Carr and with an intensity I've rarely seen in anyone he absolutely yells, screams as he is demanding and comanding the team to "PLAY FOR THIS MAN!". Carr again puts his head down a bit as he is choking up as English is getting the players absolugely amped as he keeps repeating that mantra: "PLAY FOR THIS MAN! PLAY FOR THIS MAN!" It was intense and absolutely gave me goosebumps as ESPN/ABC played a snip of it during the game due to it being Carr's last and having locker access for that storyline but the entire scene was played on Michigan Weekly due to the cameras they had in the room the entire time and own the rights to. I cannot find that anywhere now and it's a classic. I'm usually god at finding just about anything but that 2nd video especially is one I cannot even find a snip, like it never happened. Thanks for any help and GO BLUE!!!!!

Sorry if the format doesn't show the proper paragraphs and spacing I did add but, at least on my phone, don't show in the actual post. They were there and fine as I typed it but after posting it shows on my phone as one long paragraph like it does in the Android app. I apologize to anyone that also views it as such.

Sorry, I wish I could help you with those clips.  Frankly, I'd LOVE to see them if you ever do find them!

That Capital One game against Florida was one of my favorite Michigan games ever.  So many spectacular plays on both sides of the ball.  Our WR's were making circus catches.  Our Defense was knocking the crap out of Tebow on just about every play.  You could tell the team was in fact "playing for this man."

That is why I want them. I love that game but do have a slight miff about it and that is waiting until Carr's (and Henne, Hart, MM, JL, AA, etc) last game to open up the offense. Yet, that defense that had been suspect that season was definitely playing for a coach they clearly loved. Offense as well! They balled out but to see how great they were when allowed to open up a bit made me a little miffed, lol. Happy but made me think of 06 and all the close games we lost due to DeBord taking the reigns to Obviousville, North Boring, USA. haha. Thanks for the reply.

We'll probably never know why the offense looked so unrestrained (in a good way) in that last game, but it sure looked like someone gave DeBord a brain transplant.

What's often overlooked is that the defense gave up 30+ points. I'm glad they got to pop Tebow (America's QB) a few times, but I wouldn't say it was a great performance. Still, when you consider the disasters of App State and Oregon earlier in the year, it was decent, especially when compared to Florida's other opponents that year:

That was the only game with everyone healthy the whole season.  App state Mike had a bum ankle.  After that for the entire rest of the regular season Henne had the shoulder injury that kept him out of action.

Not to mention Jake Long's ankle injury at the beginning of the season.

That last game was borderline spread. Henne always professed his love of the shotgun and he was out of center for much of the game. That and the trick, non-obvious plays. It was absolutely more than having everyone healthy. That last game offense had people (still) wondering if DeBord even called it. Some claim it was SL and others claim the coached let Henne run the offense/calls. It was more than health.

I think you meant to say '05 instead of '06

We lost 2 games total in '06...by 3 points @OSU where we scored 39 (ie the offense wasnt really an issue) and in the bowl game that was definitely a let down but wasn't at all close.

05 is where we lost a bunch of games by one score.

DeBord offense in general. If you recall, the osu game is still largely blamed on Crable's late hit but as you pointed out we put up points and were rolling in the second half. We started the game with the ball, marched it down in a very confident and attacking manner before going back into the DeBord shell for almost 2 quarters. My general point was that if we had played as freely and attacking in other games/years as we did that UF game we would likely have at least played for a title with the group of Henne, Hart, MM, Long, etc. The 06 osu game was clearly going to be a scoring fest to win and we backed down for almost 2 quarters before realizing that as osu came out down 7-0 in pure 5 wide, dink and dunk p*ssy BS. Yet, with a QB like Smith you can't force your defense to win a game like that when you have so many offensive weapons.

Has long been kind of a blanket term for exactly what you just said. I preferred Parrish but there is a reason I also mentioned "his last game" (he being Carr). If I'm the only fan that sees a boring, obvious offense and says something along the lines of "UCONN went full DeBord this year, etc", I'd be stunned. haha. Again, this isn't about one person as much as an offensive staff's mentality. I thought this was made clear earlier but hopefully it is now.

This is the post-game speech (or much of the portion you requested anyway) from a then-fledgling BTN, with some of the on-field stuff from ABC:

Here is something else from the locker room, although the audio on this one isn't so great. Presumably, this was before the speech in the other clip, but I could be wrong.

Most of the great clips and highlights on YouTube are gone now. At least two different profiles that posted them all were deleted. I'm pissed.

That second video (I mean it gives you goosebumps it's so intense) was probably on one of those accounts knowing my luck. Again, I'm usually very good at finding things online but I've only seen that clip twice. Once during the game (I even torrented the game. The person ripped the commercial but the clip aired right as they came back from break and the upper cut it out as you only see the last second of everyone going nuts leaving the room) and then again on Inside Michigan Football's season ending episode. Cannot find that video, though. Much like those that are trying to archive great UM/Jackson announced games, those two clips should be everywhere but sadly random media companies delete/ban them. I now feel their frustration.
