Dak Prescott, the Mississippi State QB this year. Stocky build and mobile.  He's deceptively athletic as well. Also a powerful runner. I have a feeling that this guy will be our starting QB in a couple years.  If Harbaugh can work his magic, he may be able to develop this guy into an elite QB.

I personally don't think Malzone will be a starter, unless these other guys fail to develop. He's got the lowest ceiling, I think, even though he may also have the highest floor. Gentry and Viramontes are the opposite, with Peters somewhere in the middle. With the kind of coaching QBs are gling to het here, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Viramontes become a star someday. He's a much better runner than Gentry, and he's got raw arm talent - if the mechanics can be fixed, look out. Also, his level of HS competition is the highest of anyone we've got on the roster, no?

I'm not one to analyze scouting film, but I wouldn't call his speed deceptive. He looks pretty damn fast for a QB. Faster but not as big and strong as Dak I'd say.

As Monkey House says, I also doubt he'll be our starting QB. Wouldn't surprise me to see him run some option sometime or be in for goal-line situations. Otherwise I figure he'll play elsewhere.

They had 3 very good - excellent quarterbacks and they needed all three to win the national championship.

Shane Morris and Jack Ruddock only have about one year eligibility left.

Zack Gentry  and Alex Malzone are freshman.

Peters is a little bit unknown, given that he is just getting on board.

Let Harbaugh recruit whatever QB recruits he needs to create the competition to raise the performance level to an elite status.

Very excited about this kid. His film is awesome. If he ends up starting at QB awesome, and if not he won't sit on the bench because there's a few other positions he has potential at.

as a versatile QB and also as something like sort of a "speed TE".

An oversimplification of the Harbaugh recruiting method: build the best team of athletes he can find, as fast as they will accept.  All the "Starz" guys seem to be on the outside looking in, thinking they can milk their recruitment and take visits, etc until the very end.  However that's not going to work if you want to play for Michigan in the future...love it.

This class is going to be over 20? Seems like the 3 teamates from FL will make it 17 soon. Wow. This kid looks versotile, welcome aboard. I see him as an H Back type.

Someone who recalls better than I, what kind of role did Griff Whalen play while at Stanford?  Strictly an outside receiver?  He was an ahtletic, well-built, HS QB who switched positions for Harbaugh.  He is a touch smaller at 5'11''/200 lbs.

Video /= Generic 3*

Those of you who are boo hooing over this guy because of his rating need to watch his video, otherwise you're making yourself look kinda dumb...

Love this pick-up. I'll be shocked if he doesn't get a large bump based off what I'm hearing from the camp circuit as well as the highlights I just watched. Dude can play.

This is a kid who I could see being a stud QB at a place like Oregon, a la Marcus Mariota (who was also famously under-recruited)... I'm thrilled beyond belief to have VV in the fold.
