*****TomVH EDIT******: I confirmed with Tom he did in fact commit. Tim is working on the Hello post, so that will be up soon. This is a really big pickup for Michigan, Ohio State fans thought they would end up with Strobel a few months ago.

Ranked 4 star per Rivals.

I think Strobel could grow into the DT position. He seems like a big body kid that could get it done. That is hoping though that we pick up Washington. This is going to be a killer class for us no doubt.

If anyone's wondering about the calibre of this kid, he holds offers from the entire B1G including our friends down south. Also holds a Stanford offer as a testament to how smart he is. Probably OSU's first big recruiting loss since all the problems broke. I don't think too many people here will complain.

With the ESPN rankings (take them for what they are) published today and the tOSU uncertainty  I think that the class has reached a critical mass and recruits see it as I better get on quick or the Arc could be full.

The rich keep getting richer. I just wish we could recruit nationally like the  Sparty.

C'mon Magnuson and Dunn!

GBOD!

"Like most people in Ohio, I was raised with a biased opinion against Michigan. However, it occurred to me that there was no justification for my prejudice, besides the fact that it was Michigan. I think it says something that despite my apprehension, Michigan still stood out above the rest. I am confident that I have made the right decision for my future, and I look forward to beginning my college career as a Wolverine." Tom Strobel

For Washington and Stanford as well. Combined with OSU mess and this monster haul of a class I bet they will jump on board. I think that they will wait for the all american games, but honestly who cares so long as they get on board! Big Blue is ROLLING

about Sparty's national reach, and that Michigan's class isn't top 10. I just wish that the the Wolverines had a national brand like Sparty. Oh well, I guess Michigan will have to make do with local recruits. Welcome aboard Tom Strobel.

Yeah, who needs to recruit regionally and get 4-stars when you can recruit nationally and still end up with regional kids.

Fun fact of the day:

MSU's 5 commits have a combined 0 offers from UM, ND and OSU.

UM's 15 commits have a combined 17 offers from ND, OSU and MSU.

Considering all the commits in question are from the Midwest, something isn't quite adding up there...

1)   How is Valenti doing today?

2)   Actually, Michigan's class is rated #6 by ESPN-- but that must be Sparty math for you.

3)   For all of the talk about Sparty's national reach, all five of their guys are from Ohio or Michigan.   It's one thing to throw out a bunch of offers to guys across the country, it's another thing to get them to commit.

Little Giants =  Little Recruiting success...

Spartina's best season since the 1960s has thus far proven to be a dud.  They  get zero bowl respect and can't translate it into attracting talent (at least not yet).
