landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
never gets old
....that was fast. Welcome, Ross.
That's what she said
That was fast.
That's what she said
I sense something familiar...something I haven't felt in a while.
that's what she said
You really like driling the same thing repeatedly, don't you? You need to work on spontaneity, because frankly this relationship is becoming quite dull.
Holy crap. That was infintiely faster than I expected
That's what she said
I don't want to judge, but she sounds like a s......
Hey his mother is a very nice woman!
hahaha you win.
You nailed it the third time.
Welcome to Michigan Ross.
If you love Cleveland Kids so much why don't you just marry... oh...
Someone posted this in the other Hello post that got deleted, but does this push Treadwell to commit?
Yea I got deleted :(
I feel like we have to save that spot for Treadwell or at least a WR
Wasn't expecting anything until his visit this weekend but (obviously) I'll take it. Wooo!
Wow that was so fast, he just got a call, and accepted on the spot I assume? That's brilliant...
Well, we accept. Welcome aboard Ross!
Now what happens with Treadwell, Green & McQuay? Does Treadwell receive that last spot?
Of the three, he's clearly the one who is needed the most in terms of his talent and position... and he was told previously by the coaches that they would hold a spot for him... but that was before the class only had one spot left... hmmmm
We'll have to wait, last year we lost Barnet and Posada when the summer camp began and Carvin Johnson played well over a month before he decided to transfer, Greg Brown also waited until the season IIRC to call it quits, Ja'ron Stokes is another example I believe, I don't like losing kids but it's bound to happen, once the roster settles down there will be players who don't feel like they'll see much playing time and will start looking somewhere else, at this point thinking about names is pointless, those who stay...
Unless he has a history of legal trouble, I don't think he gets dismissed even if the allegation is proven true.
even of it was 100k worth of laptops from a broke school system... he deserves another chance right? /Dantonio'd
depends on his 40 time. Of course, if his 40 time was really low, he probably wouldn't have actually been caught.
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. It doesn't make sense to stop recruiting other great CBs and then offer Douglas unless something has changed and we're at 25. If Frank Clark's alledged theft actually happened (and Hoke would know), there's no way he would stay on the team, thus pushing us to 25. So we're probably back where we were, Treadwell + Green/Whoever else.
Well we need attrition even w/o kicking Clark off the team, to sign 24 this year.
Yeah, I was going to say, even if Clark is kicked out that's kinda already been accounted for in the "shit happens" category of attrition.
Part of our preparation for the upcoming Alabama game is to practice oversigning.
Dismissing a kid for his first minor offense like this would be harsh. Disciplining him of course. Sit out half a season? Sure. But to dismiss him wouldn't make much sense. He'll still have to answer in court and pay penalties that way. Absent violence or actions that cause serious damage, I can't see how you don't give an 18 year old kid a second chance after he is punished.
And it's not like keeping him on the team and punishing him would be anywhere near the equivalent of say, when Tom Osbourne started Lawrence Philips in the NC game against Miami after he had choked his girlfriend...
If you're talking about Fitz, I agree he won't get kicked off. But Clark, I'm not sure. If he's found guilty, that's a felony, 15 years in prison possibly. That's not minor. For that case, neither is a DUI.
Fifteen years for a MacBook air? WTF? Imagine if he had gotten his hands on a new MacBook Pro.
Eighteen year old kids. Jeebus.
drinking, recreational drugs, fighting, those are offenses that warrant 2nd chances, stealing a computer, not so much
There is always Auburn then!
But seriously this news about Frank Clark is too new and fresh, with so many details missing, to being speculating about his future. Michigan was still very much recruiting McQuay, so you have to think they had plans for a potential 4th CB in this class.
Unless you're a Heisman candidate...
as chris rainey would say, "Time to die, bitch!"
I hardly call a 2nd degree home invasion charge a "minor offense." In my book, no FELONY is a minor offense.
I don't want to minimize what he did but this very well could be a minor offense! my daughters mother walked in my house while my daughter was in car, and she took some papers of mine. she was charged with the home invasion 2nd degree. We should wait for more details!
A guy I graduated from high school with got kicked off of Wake Forest's basketball team for home invasion, I believe.
If Clark gets booted, what are the chances he goes to Auburn? Just sayin.
I also find the lack of a larceny charge to be most unsettling in Clark's case.
there will be attrition.
Hoke and company are at it once again!
I know recruits have visited us and bailed on later-scheduled visits (MSU), but this is the first time I've seen a recruit schedule visits to ND and Wisconsin BEFORE us and then be like "nah, I'm good". I love it.
Welcome to Michigan Mr. Douglas.
Wow...that's what you call quick! Happy to have him aboard. With this commitment where does that leave us in terms of the scholarship count?? I know we have at least one spot saved for Treadwell...i'm assuming Mcquay III is on the outside looking in at this point, although he's looking Vandy-bound now.
I'm curious to see if this pushes Jourdan Lewis to receiver
Welcome to Michigan, Ross!
A speedy CB is never a bad thing to have, of course.
I new he was a fast cornerback, but yikes!
WOOHOO! Are we the first school to reap the benefits of PSUs implosion? Unlike Kiffin who recruits current players still in the program, I feel a lot better that we wait for the players to leave the program or decommit before we make a move.
UNC was the first.
Talk about out of the frying pan....
If OSU wanted him, we'd already have him. I promise.

Kalis disagrees with this assessment.
Along with Dawson and Dymonte...
Not to mention Anzalone, Jalen Smith, Heuerman, Pocic, etc, etc.
You would think that by now, the old "if meyer wants him, he'll get him" fantasy has been put to rest.
You would think, but Ohio fans will continue to say this until Meyer is no longer the coach.
Was said yesterday in regards to possibly being able to take on a penn state player under a waiver? Maybe in TomVH chat? Could Hoke and Co. know more about that And that's why just one player was offered when we're still in on big time recruits?
That only applies to players currently enrolled. Douglas takes up the same amount of roster space as any other 2013 commit would.
He was never enrolled at PSU so the waiver does not apply to him. AFAIK, the waiver is only being extended to transfers from PSU.
That waiver is only available for current PSU players. It also makes you lower the 2013 recruiting class by the same number of players you bring in from PSU.
Unless they're seniors of course
Actually I don't think so. I think taking any PSU transfers has you lose a player the next year, even if it's a senior
If that player puts you over the 85 schollie limit. We are at somewhere around 80, so if we bring in a Senior, we are clear. If we bring in any underclassmen, it takes away from the 2013 class (no room).
Welcome aboard Ross! A good addition to almost finish up the class.
On that note, I have to think this pushes Treadwell's timeline up significantly.
And this is why you don't make posts bashing other coaches that are interested in PSU recruits...Great to add Ross to the team!
That pick other schools.
Love it; you can't have enough athletes in the secondary welcome aboard Ross!!
Is our total class still expected to be 24? I'm wondering if the numbers have changed with everythign going on.
Does he have the same build as Terry Richardson? They look similar, maybe Ross is bigger.
EDIT: 20 shuttle: 4.09, 33.2" vert, 107.07 SPARQ
T-Rich plus an inch or two and 20ish lbs
It's from The League, which is an excellent show loosely based around fantasy football. First two seasons are on Netflix instant stream. Definitely worth a watch.
This wouldn't affect the outlook of this year's class too much, I think. The NCAA is in the process of making it so that PSU players who transfer out don't count against a school's scholarship limit, so we should be fine.
Except that he isn't a transfer. He still has a year left of high school football
I'mma need a film breakdown. STAT.
Great hip flexibilty, superior enthusiasm, questionable fashion sense.
And he needs work on arm length!!!
Treadwell knows commits come in pairs right?
How about a DB not a DE? hahaha
Umm...he is a cornerback, not a defensive end.
Well actually I think John Madden said it best, "The team that scores the most points will probably win the game."
Man I like the way our defense is going to look..
hope everyone is still safe even though we didnt buckle up
Wow this may be an interesting weekend.
What happens if D.Green wants to commit?
D Green never talks about us. Where is everyone coming up with this?
But but... I thought Green and Dawson are best buds for life.
Clarification: I don't think D.Green is coming. I think he's going somewhere in the south.
I was posting a hypothetical; how the coaches would deal with a D.Green trying to commit, when there is only 1 spot left and the theory is it is reserved for Treadwell.
I think the hypothetical question is the other way around . . . how would the coaches deal with D. Green saying no? I think we just saw how.
The coaches probably already have a very good idea of who's coming and they are acting accordingly.
I would guess they might ask someone to greyshirt, or they are expecting greater attrition
Wow that was fast! You could say that ROSS was all BUSINESS about this decision.... no?
Ok sorry ill go put my head down now.
by not putting "YEEAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" after that.
I guess we're now only pursuing Green and Treadwell, if they both want to jump in they will be able to IMO
So I just back from class and turned my computer on. On my twitter feed, I see Steve retweeting the link to Ross Douglas' hello post. I definitely had a combination of confusion, shock, and elation.
I really like our secondary recruiting this year. Looks pretty solid I love these coaches and how they evaluate talent. Ross Douglass might be scrappy enough to fit the mold of the boundry side corner. Can't wait to see how these kids develope under Mattison and co.
This happened so fast that ESPN bottom line actually broke the news to me. I literally can't believe ESPN is becoming relevant in recruiting. *head explodes*
He "Seriously" knew about this I guess.
He's real good!
Welcome and do great things!
Finally, after a rough day we get some great news. Welcome to the team Ross.
The lyrics were great... the chorus not so much.
So much for visiting Notre Dame this weekend. Can't complain, though. Welcome to Michigan, Douglas.
BK needs some tylenol
this one is going into the file for use later in the season. that is all
First-Hello Ross, we are glad to have you
OT- I decided to check out how this might change rankings and I hit up ESPN, I accidently clicked the wrong rankings getting the postseason rankings. The rankings by the pros(both) seemed accurate but the fans didn't even have Michigan in the top 25. Beyond that ND was in the top 25 and Ohio has number 6. ESPN is absurd.
We're glad you decided to avoid that whole situation down at PSU. Good luck to you.
It's a great move for Ross. Ideally, Treadwell will close out the class before awkward situations arise - i.e., having to say no to Green and McQuay.
Welcome to the fold. Go Blue
Welocome Mr. Douglas!
Nice. The kid certainly is decisive.
that's a good observation.
Douglas definately doesn't like to be the last one standing when the music stops. I hope he can make that work on the field for us.
Welcome to Michigan Mr. Douglas.
Don't really need a CB. Are we trying to "save" some kid? Not sure I want to be tied this mess in any manner. Let USC and Ohio do the poaching. Hoke first mistake. I think so. Ither recruits out there at other positions of need.
I guess that's why you're not a Michigan football coach.
Yeah, not like we didn't already recruit the kid. It's not his fault and why would someone not touch him?

reason you are not a coach. Hoke points at double posts and they disappear.
If we didn't need a DB then why were we looking at Fuller and McQuay? Apparently this coaching staff wanted another DB and they got a gritty, fast, and breakup machine with Douglass. This is a great pick up and were going to have one of the best pass defenses in the nation in 2 years
I like this commitment a lot. We have been on the outside looking in for both Fuller and McQuay for quite some time. Waiting any longer would have most likely resulted in us getting a much lesser player at CB than Douglas. And Douglas is a pretty darn good player in his own right.
