It is a huge get.  I have no idea why kickers aren't ranked higher than most services rank them.

A kicker with a big foot puts the ball in the endzone, saves wear and tear on your special teams players and in a close game, field goals can make the difference between a win and a loss.

Well, nobody knows that for sure, but what is very likely is that this means @PsuLionInsider will block James Franklin later today because the wheels are falling off at Penn State.

There is always the possibility that the commit at Penn State is still committed and that is good enough for Franklin as well.

in the long run.  3 filps to one pwo at a position of abundance reminds me of the picture of Alan Branch walking away from a big sack at  Happy Valley.

Great vs. average (or even good) kicker in college should be worth a couple of extra wins over the course of his four years.  Hope the Mighty Quinn can cause some Sparty tears to flow!

Is he a difference maker?  It's hard for me to get excited for a kicker but at the same time I don't know the difference between a high rated scholarship kicker versus a walk on guy with a soccer leg.  I'd expect the top rated kicker to be money in the bank at any distance <50 yds in college.
