Sam Webb was heavily hinting that JBB was very close to a decision this morning on WTKA. Can only put us even more in the driver's seat for Peppers.

TomVH confirms!!!

How is that good news again?
If he decides before a Staford visit, it's got to be M. If he moves up his Stanford visit, then they become part of the decision process, no?
Webb said this morning that Stanford was the school for Peppers at one time.
April 29th, 2013 at 12:43 PM ^
is that we are his #1 far and away now and he's ready to make a decision but he doesn't want to do so without seeing Stanford. ergo: if he moves up the Stanford visit its to get this over with.
But I wouldn't necessarily read the situation that way. I think in general moving up the decision means good things for Michigan, but previous indications were that he might decide before even going out to Palo Alto.
By all accounts it's a great place, and if they were #1 at one point, it's just as likely that he loves his Stanford visit as much as Michigan. I'm going to increment back to 50-50.

Here's Juwann Bushell-Beatty's Hudl.com page - (HERE)
That site lists him at 6'6" and 315 lbs., so we're not just grading roads - these are freeways we intend to build through defensive lines in the future. I like that approach.
Welcome to Michigan!

Recruited Offensive Linemen:
2012: 6'5'' (x4)
2013: 6'4'' (x2), 6'5'' (x3), 6'7''
2014: 6'5'', 6'7''
Recruited Ball Catchers (WR/TE):
2012: 6'2'' (x2), 6'3'', 6'4'', 6'5''
2013: 6'2'' (x2). 6'3'', 6'4'', 6'6''
2014: 6'3'', 6'4'', 6'6''
Recruited Defensive Linemen:
2012: 6'2'' (x2), 6'3'', 6'5'' (x3)
2013: 6'2'', 6'3'', 6'6''
2014: 6'4''
Wonder if a Dave Molk would ever be offered under Hoke in the future. Moke was ~6'2", 280# as a senior in HS.
But he was still one of the best centers in the country that year, so I bet he still would have been.
ESPN loves him, #10 OT and in ESPN150. 247 has him as a solid 4*. Both list him at 6'7"
Scout and Rivals have him as a generic 3*, listing him at 6'5".
The two inches in height make a difference, given we need tackles instead of guards.

We've got a ways to go in order to be able to take that title from the team that started Kevonte Martin-Manley and Darrell Johnson-Koulianos.

Not that it matters much, but I wonder how much of an impact the B10 expansion has on these NJ kids. They'll be on TV every week and play at least 2 games @ Rutgers while they're wearing a Michigan jersey. Does M pull JBB and have such high interest from Peppers without the B10 expansion? Maybe, probably. But did it push us over the edge? Maybe.
April 29th, 2013 at 12:27 PM ^
As stupid as Rutgers and Maryland are, their states have a lot of good football players and now we can tell them (and kids from VA too) that we'll be playing three schools (RU, MD, PSU) from their region which means we'll always have one away game within driving distance from home. A lot different than if we were playing in the west division and we're playing out on the plains several times a year
April 29th, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
You're missing the real issue. The real question about Big Ten expansion is: will Rutgers come into Michigan and steal the second-tier kids from MSU?!
April 29th, 2013 at 12:51 PM ^
The instant that Maryland and Rutgers were announced as the newest members of the B1G, this is the first thought I had as well. I've got to believe it's at least one factor these MD and NJ kids consider when choosing a school.
April 29th, 2013 at 12:58 PM ^
We hear all the time about kids wanting to stay close to home (Southern kids rarely leave the South, for example). Last year, we got a lot of Midwestern kids, which is great, but ESPN actually has more "East" kids in the top 150 than the Midwest, and since our campus is only about 10 hours away at the most from any Eastern city, suddenly having three more schools we play being out that way starts to make us look a lot closer.

@rivalsmike: OL Juwan Bushell-Beatty to #Michigan is step one, Jabrill Peppers sooner than later is step two. Paramus double dip.
ALL GOOD NEWS!
