Hello Joseph Cecconi (Hockey)

Submitted by Bosch on

I don't follow much hockey, much less hockey recruiting..... but I do enjoy spreading good tidings.

Cecconi plays for my hometown Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL.

The floor is open for those who do follow hockey.......

Edit:  Tried to find what class he would be a part of.  Article just says "after his USHL career."

Also, pretty sure he's the son of a prominent car salesman in Buffalo by the same name. Random, but I knew I recognized the name somewhere. I'm going to speculate his full name is Joe Cecconi III or IV

He's a bigger kid, defensive defenseman. Not really a top pairing guy, but should be a solid second or third pairing defenseman. Started to grow into his body a little more this year and had a really good season. Probably up in the air whether he comes in 2015 or 2016 depending on Michigan's needs.

Cecconi is a young defensmen who will still be in high school next year and thus won't play until at least the 2015-16 school year. Plays on the same team as Michigan commit Cooper Marody, both of whom likely will be back in Muskegon next year (so that's a USHL team all of you hockey nuts should follow).  From what I understand from the coaches, he's got a a lot of growth potential, however his game at this point is very predictable.

The emphasis the staff has put on blueline recruiting is size.

With Boka, Cutler Martin, Luce, Luke Martin and Cecconi, they've put together a group of big, physical, imposing defensemen.

They don't have a Merrill type guy in the class right now, but after 3 years of watching the blueline get mashed on the boards, throw the puck away and hang the goalie out to dry, a group of guys who get the job done in their own end is something I look forward too.
