Not to pee in the pool, but thanks to Urban Meyer, there is no more "typical" in the Big Ten. But the factors you mentioned are enough to contend.  Most of all, I still think Harbaugh's coaching and motivation are going to make a big difference in how we perceive the talent level by the end of the season.

Michigan is going to win ten and contend with or without Rodock, but it would be great to see him in Ann Arbor.

Agree. I think Rudock on the roster will provide a good safety net of sorts for the team by being a steady, veteran performer. I don't necessarily think that having him on the roster equals more wins than without him.

Perhaps, but with us playing in a division with a coming off a National Championship, Urban Eyer coached Ohio State, Michigam State, and an upstart Penn. State to beat out just to get into the Championship game against the winner of the West, it is going to take quite a bit more than that now.

Spath just tweeted (and deleted) that it is confirmed that he will be at UM next weekend.  Here is the paywalled info:

EDIT: New tweet

This most likely means that both Morris and Speight will transfer at some point with O'Korn, Malzone and Gentry battling it out in 2016.

I was just saying that to a couple of friends (about Shane). I actually forgot about Speight and won't be surprised one bit if they both transfer. In a perfect world, they would all stay on the team, but I know that won't happen. I'd love it if they both stay for this coming season so Malzone can red shirt, but I can't see that happening. Shane is going to be a junior in autumn, so he only has two years left and likely wants to play.

It would appear that Harbaugh, despite nice words about the current rostered QBs, does not have confidence that any of them are ready or can lead team. If he did I would think they would have passed on the Iowa xfer. Malzone is probably just too raw at this point.

Sounds like at least one between Morris and Speight will be moving on. My guess is Morris.

It's been rumored here in Hawkeyeland for months.  As a Hawk fan from birth I seriously hope Jake goes for 3500+ yards and 30+ TD's next year.  Then maybe we can make some seriously overdue coaching changes.

not sure about the ceiling though.  Much to be seen if his mediocrity was Greg Davis induced or just natural limitations.

Per Chris Balas on the Huge Show this guy is like a Brian Gresie. Think: game manager. He doesn't have a strong arm, but knows where to throw the ball. He frequently will check down and dump off to fullbacks, running backs, and tight ends. He's not a guy that's going to get a look at the NFL, but is a Harbaugh type QB who will be smart not make many mistakes

He has quite a bit of experience as a starting quarterback in the Big 10. Will be a plus for Wolverines no matter how the qb pecking order shakes out.

I really thought that the B1G would deny his transfer due to objections from other schools wanting to keep Michigan down. I'm glad I was wrong. Maybe the other schools realize that it is better for the B1G as a whole if Michigan is good.

There is a rule that says that any transfer from one B1G school to another has to sit out a year. There is no exemption for graduate transfers mentioned in the rule.  An exception to the rule had to be granted. I guess Delaney can grant the exemption unilaterally, but I would imagine that the member schools could lobby him.

We had a poster yesterday patting himself on the back that Malzone had the QB job locked up for the next 4 years and we wouldn't need a backup.  He predicted all of this looong ago and wanted to let us know it.  I hope he doesn't come back.

HA!  Welcome Mr Rudock and good luck to all of the QB's on the roster.  May the best QB win. I hope we have some wins where 2 - 3 QB's get in the games.
