If Poggi had chosen Michigan over Alabama and another school (i.e. had three in his final group), it wouldn't have meant anything. Since it was only Bama, though (i.e. two in his final group), it's a huge deal.

I like that he has a Stanford offer, and that Hurst had Duke and Vandy offers. That suggests that neither of them is likely to be an academic risk.
