not that the tight ends have not performed well, but why lump tackles and tight ends togehter? are the tight ends going to split time between working with tackles and working with WR's?

Chances are there will be a GA or two who work with the tight ends.
Also, tackles and tight ends do a lot of combination blocking together, and they have to pass block in generally the same way at times. So it makes some sense.

It seems like having everyone add an extra coach at once will cause chaos. What's stopping Michigan from signing someone now as an "analyst", at a coaches salary, and then change their title/duties once April hits? Or if we plan on promoting an analyst internally, hire their replacement now before 100+ other schools are looking to fill positions.

It will be easier to poach someone from another school when he knows for sure we have a coaching position to offer.

Easier to hire away a coach when you're not giving them a position with a lesser title. It also makes it easier to pay them more. In the same way Hamilton is our assistant HC, the same title he had with the Browns. Drevno is still the OC. I don't get why people think having coordinators under him gives him nothing to do. You might ask instead how much the run game coordinator does when the other OL coach is already the OC.

My memory of it was that we had an iffy line at first as they switched to the RR offense and had to deal with the leftovers of the Carr era, but the line was excellent by 2010. And, as many have mentioned, Indiana's lines lately have been freaking awesome. Ex: Dan Feeney

Schilling was a 5*, Moosman was the only 4* left. Molk was a RS freshman. Two walkons got starts. Frey did a very good job from that starting point.

Pretty much every position sucked in 2008, but 2009 and 2010 were pretty good from the OL's perspective. They also steadily improved as Rodriguez got more guys that he wanted, rather than dealing with Tim McAvoy and John Ferrara.

It's been brought up by other guys, but I could find 5 OL that played under Hoke that made it to the NFL in some capacity (starter, back up, played for a few years but didn't last too long).
Molk, Lewan, Schilling, Schoffield, and Omameh.
