[Hello: Garrett Miller (2013 Walkon)]

Hillsdale College also recruited Miller pretty hard. In his senior campaign, Miller recorded 75 tackles (8.3 per game) and three sacks, two blocked kicks and two fumble recoveries while credited with 30 pancake blocks on offense. His efforts earned him Associated Press All-State honorable mention standing.

Mod edit: Clarified the title a little bit. Assuming he's an OL because Funk was his contact but either way he's a lineman per the article. JGB.

Mod edit two: Apparently the ability to read isn't a prerequisite for modding. Fail on my part, sorry guys. JGB.

Even though coach Funk has been his primary recruiter he says they're looking at him for SAM or WDE. Article lists him at 6'4" 235 lbs and hes an All State wrestler and runs hurdles and 100m in addition to throws for track and field

Interesting data (6'4", 235) and background (hurdles in track, good at wrestling). Every year, a handful of guys like that wind up contributing meaningfully.

"I told coach (Ayers) I was planning on walking on at Michigan, because Hillsdale wasn't going to give me any money for football," Miller said. "And Michigan has more options for what I want to study in the field of sports science. I enrolled in the School of Kinesiology and even though I have no idea what exactly I want to do, at least that's a start."

He sounds like he's willing to work to get a shot and like a hard worker in general. It seems like he embraces the challenge both athletically and academically, and again, I would think that this is an example of the staff finding players who fit that culture in Schembechler Hall nicely.

Incidentally, a few notes on his performance in the shot put and discus can be found here - LINK. At the Division 4 Regionals, he came in 2nd in the discus at 141'5", and in the Division 4 State Finals, he was 4th in the shot put at 51'4".

 Welcome to Michigan, Garrett Miller!

Good ol Lenawee Connect (Daily Telegram). When I used to live there I had to laugh at some of the things that were considered "headline" worthy, which wasn't a whole lot. And probably still isn't.

It appears as if you have the heart of a Michigan Man.  With hard work and some great coaching, you too can realize your dreams.

Best of luck to you!!

Sounds like a guard who can finally beat the running back to the hole. Eric Fisher was small coming into CMU...not that small...but he didn't run the hurdles either.
