touche my friend
Hello: Dan Samuelson
Pretty weird because Samuelson's last tweet was about not announcing until the 14th and how he didn't want any phone calls or anything until then.
I'm guessing this means that Cameron Hunt decided not to commit?
I read somewhere they might take 7 oline. Can't remember where I saw that.
Sam Webb wrote that somewhere.
Since then Sam has said probably 6 but not probable for 7.
This has to be near a record for longest delay between the news breaking and the Hello post showing up on the front page... Coming up on 20 hours now.
Welcome Dan! Go Blue
The same Steve Wiltfong that started the Poggi- Alabama stuff?
That wasn't him. It was Charles Power, from the BOL site. Wiltfong simply reposted the link to the wolverine board. Wiltfong is one of the more respectable guys in the business.
We get our final piece in the OL class. A 4 star Scout, and 3 star for rivals and 247. I guess this leaves Cameron Hunt out of the picture. At any rate, a good piece to the class. Go Blue!
I think there is still a chance they take 7 OL...as it has been discussed on the board before
WHERE'S THE BEEF?!
It's at Michigan.
Kugler's tweet congratulating Samuelson for committing. Must be pretty accurate!
Shane Morris congratulated Samuelson as well, for what it's worth
So much for the gentleman's agreement...
I wonder how Bo Pelini feels about this?
That picture is awesome.
isn't it? Bravo.
This maybe pirated, but you sir have won the Internet in my eyes today.
All credit to the internets on that one...I'm not sitting at my house with a photoshop program open 24/7.
That said, I'm glad you approve of how I pick 'em.
Pelini has that rare gift of having his nostrils be perfectly half way between his eyes and mouth.
Nice pickup. I preferred Hunt, but if the coaches like Samuelson, fine by me.
Welcom Dan. OL RULES.
That starts with P and it rhymes with T and that stands for TROUBLE!
*Unsure what Cameron rhymes with?
I think either player would be a good pickup, but by signing Samuelson we not only add a player for us but also take away a player from a divison foe.
Both Cameron Hunt and Samuelson are on officials, it is possible that Samuelson just beat Hunt to the punch. Congratulations to Samuelson.
SIAP...anyone know how Duke did vs NC State?
Game was cancelled due to flooding.
Goddamn court was constantly wet and cause S. Curry to mess up his left ankle. Might as well have been flooded.
I find it weird that Samuelson would commit when he said his date was the 14th...unless both CH and DS wanted to commit...in which case I would take both.
If CH didn't want to commit on his official this weekend why did DS jump the gun so fast?
Because Michigan is awesome.
It seemed to be a race for the last offensive line spot. I'm not sure that Michigan would take seven offensive linemen, although it's not out of the realm of possibility.
S/O to @dansamuelson74 on committing to Michigan today!!! Welcome to the family bro!! #GoBlue! #Team134

Welcome to the Michigan family, Mr. Samuelson!
If I did this math right, that makes the average incoming offensive linemen for 2013 about 6'5'' and 292 pounds with bulking up yet to do, I am sure. The outlook is sunny here, I would think.
Welcome to Michigan Dan!!
make this part of the banner?
That'd be a banner I'd like to touch.
Since I have no points to post this as a thread because I am a douchebag, I'll just leave this here. May or may not have to do with the commitment. It was just tweeted by Dawson.
He retweeted a tweet after that in which a Michigan fan said that Dawson deserved to be ESPN's #1 guard instead of Grant Hill. So it could be related to that.
He has made a statement in the past that he wouldn't be happy if Michigan took another lineman. So the coaches might be keeping Hunt in mind if he decommits.
I hear he drinks Sprite.
Doesn't mean you can dunk.
I'd be pissed too. Grant Hill is clearly a forward.
More casualties to people over speculating a single word that a teenager tweeted.
I think it's in relation to just finding out that he's no longer the #1 guard on espn's ratings.
What happened to all your points?
Made a comment that was deemed over the line yesterday.
My dumb ass is most likely going to get banned eventually because I don't think before I type things.
Just post some Kate Upton gifs and all will be forgiven.
Welcome to Michigan
Is that Mike Martin's little bro?
You're looking at the wrong thing.
I heard it's because he asked for no ketchup on a hot dog, but the vendor put ketchup on anyways
Oh man, I'd be pissed about that too. Ketchup has no business on hot dogs.
this got lost in translation.
He asked for no salt...Noooo salt.
When I was in high school I was pissed off a lot of time... Usually for a wide variety of things
looks like it could be a misunderstanding of the tweet timeline.
told Dawson "we are giving your spot to Samuelson." Cass Tech pipeline ruined. Fire Hoke.
When did this all happen? I took a nap after the Duke game and the world went to shit.
Can someone enlighten me on why we are taking so many guards in this class? What does 2014 look like recruiting wise?
Well Fox and LTT are definitley tackles. Kugler looks like he could be a center or guard. Last year we took Magnuson and Braden for tackles. Plus guys like Kalis, Bars, and Samuelson have flexibility to play RT.
Becuase depth is good and we're still digging ourselves out of a hole created by poor OL recruiting a few years back.
Look at the depth chart.
Yea and I see that we have a shot at a lot of 2014 guys but only see room for 2 spots barring any changes.
You only see room for 2 spots in the 2014 recruiting class? You should look again.
We've got six OL commits - 2 tackles, 3 guards, 1 center. It's not that far out of whack. If we had 3 tackles, someone would probably be asking the same question about that position.
Jason Spriggs is from the NLC and he was the starting left tackle for Indiana this year as a freshman.
Welcome to Michigan Dan! Anytime we can grab a recruit from another Big Ten school sounds good to me. Our OL will be unstoppable.
Pelini, tell me how my ass tastes.
+1 to you. I just laughed so loud, now everybody in the break area thinks I'm batshit crazy.
I wouldn't say that the coaches are necessarily recruiting guards. I would say it's more like they are recruiting tackles to play guard. I think Samuelson is a pure guard, but Bosch, Dawson, and Kugler could play center, either guard, or right tackle. I even think Kugler has the athleticism for the left side. Fox could play either guard or either tackle spot, and LTT is definitely a tackle. The left side is secure for the 3 years at least with Lewan then I think we get 2 years out of Mags at the least. Also, if you look at our depth chart going into next season our most experienced interior lineman are RS sophomores. Nothing wrong with what the staff is doing,
I don't think those three guys can play tackle, at least not at a high level. Rueben Riley "played" tackle but he wasn't a great fit there. I see those guys fitting at tackle the way Riley did.
Wait a second, our recruits come in pairs!!! Cameron Hunt come on down
Reon Dawson perhaps? Otherwise we may have to wait till the 26th.
Like to see the next few spots go to some guys on the outside, got the O-line down fersure... Now need the playmakers for the future
Either way great get and Go Blue
Really happy that we got another OL. Great day!
how does wolverine devotee have that many negative points???????
Made an illegal immigrant joke.
Seems like a more athletic version of the big uglies Wisconsin regularly recruits to sustain their success in the running game year in and year out. Even if he doesn't start until he's an upperclassman, we need to keep this OL depth ball a-rollin'.
With Magnuson and Samuelson, we only need three more burly Vikings.
We would need to hire Wolf Stansson as our offensive line coach.
For yourself coach"
Chris Fox is a burly viking.
I like Aaron Wellman as S&C coach, but what would our guys look like with Magnus ver Magnusson as S&C coach?
All be ineligible due to roids
Why not Mariusz Pudzianowski?
Hope you develop into a multi-year starter and enjoy AA..
Bama just had a great line with 2 3-stars at guard - so exceed your 3-star rating and help the OL return to greatness.
As stated above, 7 would have been more realistic if Lewan left. I doubt we take 7 now
Why would Lewan's status matter here? OL recruits almost never play as true freshmen in any case.
It seems to me that at this juncture in the recruiting cycle the coaches feel that the "best player available" tag that we have a chance with are the lineman, Green and a couple mystery LBs and DTs.
Welcome aboard, OL for 2013 finished now?
can they hold fox off until 2014 due to his injury? gray shirt or whatever. i'm not even sure if fox needs knee surgery or not. that might balance out the class.
No. It would be a Kiffin-esque dick move to do that to Chris Fox.
Agreed Magnus, that would be the exact opposite of what Hoke and his staff have been doing up to this point, which is being straight forward with both the recruits and their families.
