I say we add them to this year's class just to boost the point total up to take #1 from urbz on scout.
Seriously, congrats though!!
HELLO: Carter and Ainsley (CO 2031)
I say we add them to this year's class just to boost the point total up to take #1 from urbz on scout.
But need SOME sugarcoat.
Solid APGARs, especially because nurses always underrate midwest recruits.
Congratulations, and best of luck. I've been told sleep comes eventually.
...the days are long and the years are short.
Congratulations on the addition to the family, and welcome to Michigan (a little bit in advance) Carter and Ainsley! Welcome to the world of being an MGoParent!
Congrats man. Showed my wife and she was like. "Aww".
Congrats and good luck.
Any chance Carter named after Anthony?
Plenty of good Carter's out there - from the guy who wrestled sharks in Deep Blue Sea to President Jimmy Carter. More so the latter.
I've met he and the former first lady on a few Habitat For Humanity builds, and spent a day working side by side with Rosalyn in Compton. Politics aside, they are great people, and their work across the globe is an inspiration to me.
Congrats. I became a father just 9 months ago, and my little girl is the greatest gift ever. Followed closely by my wife letting me dress her in Michigan gear. They grow so fast, so just enjoy every second. Even when they are screaming.
This is awesome! Congrats
Cue the muppets!
as the picture of those beautiful twins shows, you can't have one without the other!
Congratulations to you and your wife on the healthy arrival of your two wee-but-wonderful Wolverines!
I offer all the congrats. You, your wife, and your kids are awesome.
Congratulations and enjoy every minute with them.
West Wing fan?
Never watched an episode. The wife and I went through thousands of girl names and eliminated almost every one possible. We are one of the last of our friends to have kids, so alot of names were already taken by friends and family.
We found a website that allowed us to plug in names we liked, and it generated simlar names. It suggested Ainsley, and we both fell in love with it. We had contemplated Avery, but thought it might be too common for our tastes. If Carer had been a girl, he would have been Avery.
I would post a Kate Upton gif, but it seems inappropriate.
An all you can eat buffet.
Congratulations! I love all the Michigan garb you have on them. Raising them well already!
The selection here in Columbus sucks, so I actually had to custom make those onesies. The wife worked for hours while on bed rest to make the hats.
Seth picked me up a cute set of onesies when he came down for The Game, but at 6 pounds they don't quite fit. I thought about later doing a post to see if anyone had hand-me-downs they'd want to put back into circulation..
in the River Valley Mall that has some nice Michigan things but your right for the most part it is tough to find anything that doesn't make you nauseous here in cbus.
to celebrate with you vicariously. Originally came from a gift I ordered for a niece's birth, and since I was a newbie on the blog myself... But you've already learned the trickiness of getting the right fit for babies, and in my niece's case they were too small by the time the box was opened. (Feet grow quickly. I think the originals of my avatar were hung on the baby's crib as decor.)
The hats are perfect. Besides being gorgeous, they'll grow with the adorable little heads. (My esteemed but long retired professor of costume history and design would salute your wife's creativity in the color reversal.)
they'll help you tell them apart until...er, wait, nevermind.
Adorable. I wish you and your wife many hours of sleep in the days to come.
Congrats to you and your wife. Welcome to the world two new Wolverines. Best of luck to you all.
My wife is currently 20 weeks with twins (boy and girl as well). We live in Toledo so ours won't grow up in such hostile territory.
hit me up in a few months if you want any thoughts from someone going through it..
but it isn't safe by any means. In a grade school in one of the Toledo 'burbs, I bet a nun, the school principal, on the game for two years running back in the mid-70's. I could see the 'primised land' from the gradeschool/jr high it was so close to the border. just don't get to comfortable in the metro-toledo.
good luck with the upcoming bundles of joy.
Congrats man! Really cool.
Take the M gear off though until you get home. You can't trust those Ohio nurses! :)
From a mom of twin Michigan Women (future Softball/soccer players) to you.
Enjoy! Twins are the friggin best! ! Enjoy every second!
They will be applying for medical redshirts for the next 18 years. Hopefully the process goes quicker than Devin Gardners. In all seriousness, beautiful kids and good luck through this wonderful journey of parenthood.
You're right about ridiculously cute. Where'd you get the "Go" and "Blue" onesies?
I ordered 2 navy blue rabbit onesies and then bought the yellow iron-ons at walmart. It was easier than in looks. I probably violated some copyright by putting a block M on the back? I doubt they will come after me for a single/double offense.
but couldn't you have bought the maize iron-ons from some store other than WalMart, such as Meijer, or maybe from a fabric or craft store such as Joanne's or Michaels?
You should know the potential negative ramifications of any mention of "WalMart" when posting, writing, or speaking of our beloved Wolverines, as enemy fans will use it against you. Please refrain from this day forward from telling anyone else where the iron-ons came from!
Went to Joanne's to get the fabric for the hats the wife made. The only yellow iron on letters that were in stock had white outlines, and the M more resembled a Minnesota M.
I even tried to buy them online, but the best I could find was on etcy for 8.99 with like 8-10 days shipping. I googled the same product, and walmart had them in stock.
I get what you are saying, but I am way too much of a fair market capitalist to go out of the way to pay more for exactly what I wanted.
I posted the link in case anyone else wanted to try their hand at something similar.
Holy crap that's a cute picture. Congrats!
That's an epic post
Congrats! Those hats are freakin' awesome (aka cute)!
Congratulations! My daughter & son (2.5 and 0.5 yrs old) are absolutely fantastic. They'll test you in many ways but every second is worth it.
Little parenting tip I've picked up from others: one of the best things you can do for your kids is to love their mommy & if she contributed all those hours to that Wolverine-awesomeness they are wearing then she must be quite the woman!
Further evidence that commits come in pairs.
What do they bench?
...that is probably the single greatest Hello post I have ever seen...except for maybe Derrick Green!
Congrats again and welcome to the Daddy Club!
My wife is pregnant with number 2 and nauseous around the clock. Good luck I can't imagine having to at once.
idiot Farrell had them to FSU. Shows what he knows....
Time to start the 2031 college fund. I can't imagine all of the comments given the location of the hospital were about how cute the go blue outfits were. I assume those pictures were taken away from the buckeyes, but they certainly are cute. You weren't the guy that called Dave Brandon's office asking we're the M Club banner was made, were you?
No, but that would be a great idea!
Awesome! Congrats! Wishing you and the family love, health, and happiness. And of course, Go Blue!
Upshot for the rest of the class? Jk, congrats man. I hope you're fine with not getting adequate sleep.
Congrats to you and yours!
Congratulations, they're awesome.
Nice work mom. And dad with the assist some time ago!
Love the onesies and scarves.
Sorry about being stuck in cbus. Must be rough there. I'm north of you by about an hour and a half and take flak all the time.
Looking forward to our future recruits.
Congrats Proud MgoFather and MGoMother! We all look forward to seeing your boys in Ann Arbor!
Congrats man that's really awesome!
Serious congrats. It is always great to see two new Wolverines enter the world. Sorry you live in the armpit of America. Go Blue.
I think a Hoke double point is in order for this tremendous occasion...
The ride gets harder and much more rewarding with every day. Congratulations!
Good luck getting sleep the next ten years.
Congrats man, enjoy every minute of it
Glad we have our first 2 for 2031... Be careful though Urban Meyer will try to flip them to Ohio.. For real.. Congrats .. Enjoy...& GO BLUE!!!!
Great picture of dad holding these 2 beautiful gifts from above. Look forward to seeing them at the Big House in the future! Also, props to mom for the knitting- and the twins.
great post, and my heartiest "Hail" to you and your wife. Great job.
and enjoy being a new dad. The first few months are rough (I can only imagine with twins) but it is so worth it when they start doing things like take their first steps.
...and don't be alarmed when they poop green. It will eventually turn yellow ;)
are almost 18 months now.
If you're feeling a bit overwhelmed; just think of it as an exhausting, joyous, terrifying, hilarious roller coaster that you have to ride every day until you die.
oh, and you'll do just fine.
I'd give them three FAKES out of five on the formula timing but they are so precious I'll go with it. Big congrat's. it's a fun journey.
Congrats! What an exciting time for you.
That is a fine looking set of twins there! God Bless and Go Blue!
by your wonderful news! I look forward to two fine addition to the Michigan tennis team. Someday soon they will be in the team photos at the VTC!
Your new kids are so fucking cute. I just want to squeeze their cheeks forever. Congratulations my friend.
Btw, I'd pay good money for a hat like that.
I have a feeling there exists a sizeable, and somewhat profitable market for college specific over-priced baby gear. I know there is a ton out there, but so much of it is so commercialzed. I was mentioned the idea to MGoStore and MGoUnderground for a better selection of onesies. As I live in Ohio (and don't hate it, judge me...) I didn't really want the 'worst state ever' onesie.
I ended up making the GO / BLUE onesies myself (bought the onesies, then used iron-ons) but I think they turned out alright. I've got ideas for ones that say HAIL, etc.
I also have a feeling that I will have very little time to look into this idea. It took me 30 minutes to get out this reply!
love love love love love! congrats!
Awwww, super adorable!!
Congrats on the two. Thanks for letting us know.
Congrats! Absolutely adorable. Those hats are hysterical, I need one for my 4 month old daughter.
As they say, you can't have one without the other!
Congrats and Go Blue!!
Congrats! Love the touch you have as well with the O-H-N-O shirt in a c-bus hospital!
Beautiful babies and I love the hats!!!! Always great to see pictures of future Wolverines!!! What a blessing:) Go Blue!!!!
Congratulations! However, I hope those "supplements" didn't come from a clinic in Miami.
Congratulations! This may be a big week for the 2031 class as our son is supposed to be here on Tuesday. Good luck and GO BLUE!
cute picture open thread!
Awesome will. We love the hats.
We're due very SOON. Perhaps as a pair with JV 97...
Wonderful news, beautiful pictures, beautiful babies, congratulations.
Either your wife is a Michigan alumna. Or she adores you. Better yet, both.
A few bits of advice:
- If you're going to continue to get them Michigan outfits, now is the time. In only a few years, they may not be as compliant and agreeable about wearing either identical or complementary clothing. Trust me, I know.
- If you are using a mohel, make sure he isn't a rabid Ohio fan. Although, I suppose that's an oxymoron: there's no such thing as a Bucknut mohel, is there?
- Make plenty of memories. With a 19 year old who just left for Navy boot camp, I concur with those who note they grow up fast.
- I have 11 year old twins, a boy and a girl. I can say definitively, you will lose a lot of sleep in the next year. A side benefit is reading mgoblog all times of the day and night.
Welcome to sleep deprivation!
soooo cute!!! I want one!!! And since you have two, fork one over! My babies are 12, 9, and 7 now :(
This one may or may not be of use to you...
Your wife did a great job, that's a whole lot of baby to carry around. One more thing: Wubba-nubs. It's a pacifier with a beanie baby attached. The millionth time you pick that paci off the floor you'll wish you had one...Also, lemme know if you're interested in UM handmedowns. I can mail you a box. You'll be amazed how quickly they outgrow the newborn stuff...
Shoot me an email, would love some more Michigan stuff for their closet.

They barely fit any of the clothes we have right now,and the premie clothes they hate because the holes at the head are so small.. The shirtless onesies at the hospital are just so much more convenient though because you can easily see that little strip that tells you whether or not they have wet themselves!
I like the names you chose! As a soon to be parent...choosing a name is quite the task. Congrats!
I don't know what I'd do, but you'll figure it out! Congratulations, good luck and Go Blue!
Congrats! I'd give those 40 times 4 fakes out of 5.
Congrats. Best to you and the family.
Beautiful family just days into it
Best of luck to your new family! I know I speak for all of us when I say I'm looking forward to seeing your late night delirious posts/comments.
