HELLO: Carter and Ainsley (CO 2031)

Submitted by will on

Two (hopefully) deep sleeper recruits to report here:

Carter Lee Nimmo, weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 19 inches was born a Michigan Man Wednesday morning in Columbus, Ohio. Despite a zero inch vertical leap, apparently strong lungs, he is already showing remarkably strong hands. He does seem to have a predisposition against the cold, which he will have to learn to deal with. He has lost a little over 10% of his body weight, but is on a regimented plan to put on additional weight.

Ainsley Mattox Nimmo, born just 3 minutes after Carter has apparently spent time in the gym since her last measurement. Weighing 6 pounds 6 ounces, she has grown to 18 inches. She too is now on a plan to add additional weight before leaving the hospital.  Not the vocal leader Carter is, she leads by example and is clearly an example of a wolverine woman.

Their father is so proud, and is incredibly anticipatory of a scholarship offer for the 2031 tennis team. We all know that hello posts come in pairs!! Father plans to prepare them by daily readings from MGoBlog, and a conceted effort to avoid the inevitable brainwashing of the million plus people around them.

In a show of support for her husband, their mother worked around the clock to finish their hats in time for the HELLO post; Unfortunately neither mother nor father were prepared for the chaos of National Signing Day. 2 days later, and a total of 4 hours of sleep, please excuse any malformed grammar or spelling.

APGAR Ratings:

Carter 8 9

FAKE 40 TIME(s):

Ainsley has downed a .40 oz of (supplemental) formula in 3.5 minutes.

Time to start the 2031 college fund. I can't imagine all of the comments given the location of the hospital were about how cute the go blue outfits were. I assume those pictures were taken away from the buckeyes, but they certainly are cute. You weren't the guy that called Dave Brandon's office asking we're the M Club banner was made, were you?

Nice work mom. And dad with the assist some time ago!

Love the onesies and scarves.

Sorry about being stuck in cbus. Must be rough there. I'm north of you by about an hour and a half and take flak all the time.

Looking forward to our future recruits.

and enjoy being a new dad.  The first few months are rough (I can only imagine with twins) but it is so worth it when they start doing things like take their first steps.

are almost 18 months now.
If you're feeling a bit overwhelmed; just think of it as an exhausting, joyous, terrifying, hilarious roller coaster that you have to ride every day until you die.
oh,  and you'll do just fine.

Your new kids are so fucking cute.  I just want to squeeze their cheeks forever.  Congratulations my friend.

Btw, I'd pay good money for a hat like that.

I have a feeling there exists a sizeable, and somewhat profitable market for college specific over-priced baby gear. I know there is a ton out there, but so much of it is so commercialzed. I was mentioned the idea to MGoStore and MGoUnderground for a better selection of onesies. As I live in Ohio (and don't hate it, judge me...) I didn't really want the 'worst state ever' onesie.

I ended up making the GO / BLUE onesies myself (bought the onesies, then used iron-ons) but I think they turned out alright. I've got ideas for ones that say HAIL, etc.

I also have a feeling that I will have very little time to look into this idea. It took me 30 minutes to get out this reply!

Wonderful news, beautiful pictures, beautiful babies, congratulations.

Either your wife is a Michigan alumna. Or she adores you. Better yet, both.

A few bits of advice:

  • If you're going to continue to get them Michigan outfits, now is the time. In only a few years, they may not be as compliant and agreeable about wearing either identical or complementary clothing. Trust me, I know.
  • If you are using a mohel, make sure he isn't a rabid Ohio fan. Although, I suppose that's an oxymoron:  there's no such thing as a Bucknut mohel, is there?
  • Make plenty of memories. With a 19 year old who just left for Navy boot camp, I concur with those who note they grow up fast.
  • I have 11 year old twins, a boy and a girl. I can say definitively, you will lose a lot of sleep in the next year. A side benefit is reading mgoblog all times of the day and night.

This one may or may not be of use to you... http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-things-you-wish-someone-had-told-you-you… Your wife did a great job, that's a whole lot of baby to carry around. One more thing: Wubba-nubs. It's a pacifier with a beanie baby attached. The millionth time you pick that paci off the floor you'll wish you had one...Also, lemme know if you're interested in UM handmedowns. I can mail you a box. You'll be amazed how quickly they outgrow the newborn stuff...
