Hello: Blake Bars

Submitted by wlubd on

TomVH EDIT: This was a weird night. I sent a text to Blake Bars about 3 hours ago and asked if he had committed yet, he said not yet. I then got an email saying that he did commit about 30 minutes ago.

I then got a call from Blake saying that he has committed and he did it with all his family around. He said he decided to do it tonight because he asked his family why he hasn't committed to Michigan, so he just made up his mind and did it. They're all excited and he'll be bringing his mom up either next week or the week after that.

Here are some of the quotes I posted on Twitter:

Ten minutes ago I committed to Michigan. My family is cheering here, and we're pumped. I was just sitting here and I asked my family why did I not commit to them yet. So I called up Coach Smith and told him. I then called up Coach Hoke and told him. It's been a really exciting night."

I have to imagine that Diamond And Kalis will drop very soon - I can't imagine if they are leaning as reported that they will want to chance someone like Bisnowaty trying to jump them. Happy trails to Peat, Banner et al if that happens.

Welcomes you with open arms, Blake! It's good heaving you on board and look forward to seeing you out on the field wearing the winged helmet and the maize in blue, in front of 113,000 strong!!

Great addition to this class. I really wanted him but as other people have mentioned I thought Vandy and PSU might edge us out for his talents. Don't get caught up in the stars or any of that this kid is an elite talent and had a great offer sheet to reflect it. More than excited to add him to this awesome class.

Formerly from Trenton, MI. Dad, Joe, played football at ND. Brother, Brad, plays for PSU. Blake is coming home hopefully to stay for 4 or more years. Obviously the coaches pushed the right buttons to get him to AA.
