Hello: Amanda Vargas (sb)

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

The fourth and last recruit in this class is Amanda Vargas.  Amanda Hails from Rancho Santa Margarita, California.  She plays her high school ball at Tesoro High School.

Amanda plays middle infield for her HS team.  She has a 3-year varsity stats of a .373 batting average, with 36 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .656.  She has 16 doubles,  2 triples and 9 HR.  She has a .937 fielding percentage.

Welcome to the family Amanda.  We hope that your softball career is successful and your studies even more successful.  Please stop by the Board during softball season and bring a warm winter coat with you.  You just might need it.

Overall a great, not top shelf, class from Coach Hutch.  I have always said that a team can never have too many world class pitchers.  Tera will certainly fit right in after Sara and Haylie graduate.  Aidan, and Taylor will contribute at the plate and Amanda will shore up the middle infield.  I would have liked to see a speedy lead-off hitter such as Lyndsay and Bree.

For the 2016 season, we have verbal committments from Natalie Peters, Faith Canfield and Leah Crockett.  I will profile these players next fall.

These players didn't all commit today. MGoSoftball posts these every year during the early signing period (see Michigan's official press release on the 2014 class). They probably committed months or more than a year or two ago.

By the way, Michigan's 2015 commits also include Alex Sobczak (see this page) and Nikki Nemitz's sister Mackenzie:

Does Hutch have a time share in Cali? She must be out there all the time scouting the softball fields for talent. These girls have the advantage of playing outside year round. It's hard for the Michigan high school girls to compete with that.

In Baseball and Softball are normally so much better prepared and battle tested then almost any other kids. This weekend alone my 13U Baseball team played 7 games in a two day period and its the norm here in Cali to play 15-20 games a month all year round

I wish the baseball coach would hit up these Cali kids, there are tons of them who go community college that are way better then most of the BIG10
