"Coach Mattison told me what the Ravens were about, what he thought," Beyer said. "He definitely encouraged me. I hold his opinion in high regard."
Hello (Again): Willie Henry (he has now confirmed committment)
Welcome to the family, Willie! For real this time.
Henry is a good pickup in my opinion. Welcome to Michigan Willie!
commits. Welcome again Willie.
and welcome back, Shoe... it's been a while.
ooooohhhhh rough! Just the way your mother likes it MgoShoe!
lol welcome back.
Yes! Get the recruit commitment train running again....
Love getting another kid from that HS
It sucks he lost his moment in the sun due to some kind of mixup, but I'm glad to have him. Welcome onboard!
he will have plenty more opportunities to shine in the future.....!
Well good to hear, he's definitely a sleeper prospect, hopefully we can coach him up
Welcome, William Henry Garrison - as in troops stationed at a fortress to defend it.
We own the night ladies. We own the night.
Your avatar has never been as wrong as it is now, coupled with that post.
Nice to have this finally confirmed. High hopes for this kid. Welcome to the team Willie
confidence in THIS staff to coach em up! Especially on D!!
a shocking development!
Welcome again. Let's hope another commitment comes in today to keep with the usual 2-fer plan.
I was hoping that would take another DT in this class. I think after a red shirt year and weight gain it looks like we have a guy that get after the QB in the inside.
Does anyone know we can get video on this kid? Free video . . .
Welcome to the best place you've ever been. We're looking forward to seeing you on the field . . . soon, I hope.
Great to hear he chose UofM. I say we give him the nicknam Chill Will. I dont know him and I dont even know if he is that chill, but it sounds awesome! Since Will Campbell is BWC i thought this was just.
My vote is for "Will the Thrill".
Damn. You beat me to it. Love me some Neil Diamond though.
Good to have him back.
that Todd Marinovich was such a great dancer?!
never gets old
Welcome to the team again Willie! Great pick-up for the Wolverines.
My nickname vote would be "Killer Will'.
Wow im shocked..Willie had me fooled..do work Willie !
Talk about a guy with upside. Here's a kid with great speed who has been splitting his time between two sports. Now that he'll be focused on football, and will be developed by three outstanding defensive line coaches, this is the kind of kid who can really become a player. He clearly is blessed with a lot of athleticism and a great frame. I love that he has the agility to play basketball and tight end in high school. These are the kinds of guys Hoke has developed throughout his career. An excellent pickup at a position where we need more talent and a deeper rotation. Welcome Willie!
...and play fullback.
Is there any chance he plays TE for us?
kids guna be a stud!
Is this the first Glenville player M (hopeully will) sign since Woods?
I wonder if this means the beef (whatever it was) was squashed with Ginn?
We got Frank Clark last year.
.....highly rated kids, and it sucks to lose out on them, especially to schools like Ohio, this commitment was one I was hoping for.
The bulk of any good team is made up of the guys who are rated middle of the road, so to speak. Guys who just aren't highly rated for one reason or another, but can still play ball with the best of them. Mr. Willie Henry seems to be one of those guys, and I believe he will be a very good player for us in the future.
Welcome Willie. Here's to years of you planting opposing OL on their butts and opposing QBs and RBs 6 feet under.
on a DT this late in the game. Just a few months back we had a 5-star in Tommy Schutt (sp?) wanting to commit to us and we tell him no thanks. Now we are bringing in a 3-star out of the blue. What gives? Did the class not quite come together as planned? Are we just hoping to get a in with Glenville?
Either way.....welcome Willie! We are happy to have you.
I kid, I kid.
I am shocked!
Is he a three star or has he been moved up to four?
The Schutt thing keeps coming up and up. But keep in mind that, despite his high rankings, and despite interest from so many other top-tier teams, M and ND flat rebuffed him. It's worth nothing that both these schools hold kids to different standards than do, say, OSU and PSU. So, although Schutt may well be a gifted athlete who's nice to his mother, perhaps M and ND had additional reasons to conclude that he just isn't an appropriate fit for their programs/universities.
Welcome to the good guys Willie! I'm glad it's official now. I was feeling like this
A lot of nice things being said about your play. Good for you!
"He is among the biggest players on their field, and he out-hustles just about everyone. There are a lot of plays that he chases down from behind and sometimes this may be on his second or third effort. If there is one thing that you cannot coach, it is heart, and this kid has a lot of it!"
Ted Ginn Sr. thinks that, although Michigan defensive tackle commit Willie Henry is rated just a three-star to Rivals, Henry is a five star talents. Ginn knows that the sky is the limit for this young man. I know high school coaches - and some college coaches...you know who I am talking about Fred J. ;) - tend to have inflated opinions of their players but I think this guy is a diamond in the rough. He is super fast for a man his size and has the frame to add some muscle/weight. He supposedly needs some tweaking on his technique but my feeling is that this guy can be a total wrecking ball on the D-line in a few years.
